Its time to test out the Jeep Gladiators Offroad Performance with 37" Tires and a few Offroad upgrades!
The last trip Cassie and i took, we were on the same trails with this Jeep on 35s. • Jeep Gladiator Off-Roa...
Previous to that, we had tested it completely stock; • Taking Our New Jeep Gl...
Current Jeep Specs and Parts:
Vision Manx 2 Wheels: amzn.to/2Q1oZq0
37" Yokohama X-AT Tires: amzn.to/2Q5TJGm
1.5" Leveling Kit: amzn.to/2rU7psj

Tire Deflator: amzn.to/2RkOIIR
Bestop Sunrider: www.bestop.com...
We headed down to Uwharrie National Forest to get some trail time in with the 37s. We started off with one of the hardest trails at the park (Daniel). It has some very steep climbs as you can see. The first rock ledge was a little too much without a lift, the JTs belly was not agreeing with the rocks. Sure i could have gave it some momentum and bumped up it, but without skid plates i didn't want to chance it.
Luckily our jeep is a rubicon, equipped with front and rear locking differentials which helped out a ton in this terrain.
We then continued to Dickey Bell, another one of Uwharries harder trails, the Jeep tackled it without any issues at all.
Overall, the Jeep gladiator works well with 37" tires. It is still comfortable on the road, and doesnt give the Jeep a "sluggish" feel. Offroad, i would say they are a preferred size to hit some of the more difficult trails. With the addition of 37s, i will be upgrading and strengthening up some components including steering upgrades and axle upgrades to ensure the jeep can handle the trails and the larger tires.
The Yokohama XAT all terrains did fantastic, and im excited to test them out in some muddy/wet offroad terrain in the future.
Like i mentioned, a 3/3.5" lift kit will be in the future, and we will do more offroad testing and review videos up at Rausch Creek or AOAA in PA. Im excited to explore and test the limits of this Jeep Truck, because it keeps surprising me each step of the way.
Like always, thanks for watching! Please give the video a thumbs up and leave a comment!
Stay tuned for more Jeep videos soon.

Nice Ben, it’s cool to see you wheeling your gladiator. Mine is on a 3” Synergy MFG lift and 38s and it wheels great. I’m really happy with how it performs. I do mainly rock crawling here in CA so I really want to get a nice full belly skid. I might take a crack at building my own. The belly gets hung up a lot that’s the only thing. If your going to stay at 3” of lift get some nice skids.

To make a Gladiator useful as a boulder-hopping machine, you are going to have to trash everything except the body, the entire suspension and drivetrain, and go with something like the EVO setup. That’s what all the other KZbinrs have done, Wayalife did it and shot a multi-episode video series about it. I’m sure it will be expensive, Eddie never disclosed how much.

Nice, i'm needed up there probably sometime in April in my JT. I'm running KO2s in a 315 70 17 but looking hard at a set of 37's. I'm down to Milestar Patagonia's M/T In a 37 12.5 17 or cooper ats-3 xlt In the same size. Also got 2.5" ReadyLift spacer lift and Rubicon front take off springs and shocks. Two questions, how much lift you got on the Rubicon and would you if gotten a M/T if you could do it over again. I like you daily drive mine with occasional towing. Thanks for the video by the way, love your stuff. Also could you measure the height of your rig and let me know ground to middle of fenders in the rear and front. I know you got the highline fenders and I have a Max tow but I'm just trying to get a idea of fender clearance on mine with the current lift.

It's a hugely capable platform and I agree with the 3" lift. As its purpose is a family vehicle it would be great to see you build this out with a canopy camper, kitchen and sleeping arrangements then see how it wheels. Could be interesting as your JK is setup for rock crawling etc you could tow it behind for family adventures?

It’s amazing how 2” can make such a difference. Nice to see a true budget setup in action! As I said before you need a min 2.5” lift to run this tire size. Then a skid plate system. I have taken some damage already. I ended up with a 3.5” lift (skyjacker no spacers)and full adjustable control arms. I want to squeeze 40s eventually. Check out my video. It’s short but fun.

I've been thinking of doing 37s and really want to run minimal lift. So it looks like you didn't have much rubbing with this setup? Do the falcon shocks provide any additional lift or was the 1.5in spacer and bumper stop all that is needed to clear and off road 37s?
@rlam1999

37s look great on your gladiator. Hope you guys get to lift it soon and post some videos on this same trail. The long wheel base is definitely an issue here. I wonder how my 2 dook JK rubicon would do. I have a 2.5 in lift with 35s. As I live in FL i don't get to experience many of these places.

3" lift with the 37's sounds right to me. I like the lower center of gravity and still following the big boys where they go. I do have a question will you be willing to let the Jeep Dealership install the lift? If they do the install the Jeep warranty comes into play. OMB
@JKGearandGadgets
@JKGearandGadgets 4 жыл бұрын
I won’t let a dealer install the lift. Even then, I think they only “warranty” the mopar lift. I’m not worried about losing warranty on the suspension components.

Do you plan on putting rock sliders on your JT? I've been thinking about either the ACE Engineering or ShrockWorks ones. What about 3.5inch lifts, is there anything you're sort of eyeballing right now? I've been looking at either JKS or the Metalcloak kit that apparently will be out Q1 2020.

Hey man your channel is been a blessing since 1 year ago when a star dreaming to have my gladiator! Thanks for all the great video and knowledge! I learn so much! I have a question I have a rubicon JT 2021 and is lift to factory with mopar 2” with 37”, winch warm 10,000 , rock climbing step etc is getting little heavy one think a noticed was when I put the winch, steps. I have also the superchips. That I need to regear? gonna put rack and tent also, not looking to do overland full time put pretty similar setup that you have in your JT Used the supechip f 5 is awesome, one of the thinks I noticed was the diameter in the tires was 35.25 for my tires which is the correct number put feel heavy, I try to change the size diameter to 37” and work incredibly amazing. Almost like factory, I don’t know if this is good or bad in the long run. This is a JT family friendly the most I going to put is rack, tent and few accessories like hat tank etc.I forgot to see I have terablex 1.5 front and track bar and quick disconnect sway bar from JKS and 1000 air suspension to put :) let me know what you think.

Great video regarding the COR lift. I have looked at several kids and as a result of your video I am strongly leaning to the COR. I will have 37s bfg ko2 and plan to go no bigger. Do you still recommend the COR. What height. I will mainly be around town and on highway but will drive to Colorado a couple times a year. No hard core rock crawling but some moderate and difficult trails. Do you like the fox shocks or the falcons.

I’m new to the Jeep community. I just just bought my JTR about 4 months ago. I thought it was good til I saw 37’s on it. after a TON of research I pulled the trigger on a 2” mopar lift, ko2 37’s and some wheels with back spacing at 4.5 and the offset at -12. I’m also doing alignment and programmer for my Speedo. I’ve been off roading 3 times in my life. And that with my new JTR. My very 1st trail was in Moab. The last trail I went in had a bunch of off shoots and I gave it a go for most. Anyways.... I’m wondering how the gears hold up with the 4:10 Dana’s and this set up. It looks like you have the similar set up minus the lift. Would you regiment wheeling in 4:10?? Or it best to wait til I regear to 4:88? And by the way- thanks for making these videos. It helps a lot of newbs like me out!

Great content.. just subscribed a few weeks ago as I’ve been researching the Gladiator as potentially my next truck (with the diesel ). I’m a bush camping quad & SxS guy that loves spending my time in the Canadian Rockies ( Alberta). All that said, how do those tires perform on the highway and would they still do well pulling a 5k or so load. It takes a couple hours too get to these spots from where I’m at. Really starting to fall for this truck. For me the added low end torque of the diesel is the icing on the cake. I will be using it as my daily to, so I’m watching your channel carefully as it seems that is your intent as well. Keep em coming!

I have a early build JL that had some of the steering issues. I was afraid the 37’s would make it worse but I would say that it hasnt.. I still have some steering issues I want to address and think that the Falcon Stabalizer might help the on-road characteristics I am having.

I have an '08 JKUR with 35's and the OME 2-1/2" lift with the heavier springs (so more like 3"), longer shocks and front control arms. Because I tow a boat, and that can get a little sway going passing trucks on the highway, I am thinking about the JT, but keeping it relatively low for towing and everyday use (wife doesn't like the step up she has now). I still want to be able to do expeditions though. I met a guy, and the dealer down here also has, a JT on the mopar 2' kit. He swears on his Rubicon it is more like 3". So - too high I am thinking (at least it measures higher than my JK). What are your thoughts on a kit like the skyjacker one with 2-1/2" dual rate springs in front and 1" in back?

I would really consider a JT as all around vehicle that can do some off roading (lighter trails) but leave it close to what you have here and use it as my tow rig for my boat. And in my case my JK would be my more serious off roading option. Amazing you can put 37s on with a 1 inch leveling kit. Crazy!

I will regear, it doesn’t need it for driving. But as it sits now, the tow rating is severely reduced

I was thinking about the falcon shock kit (2-3.5 shocks) but I was wondering if it would be worth it compared to the fox shock kit included in the mopar lift kit I got installed. What’s your opinion Ben?
@JKGearandGadgets
@JKGearandGadgets 4 жыл бұрын
Since you already have the mopar kit with the Fox shocks, I would keep those. They are a good shock for sure. I would be interested in seeing the overall length of the mopar Fox shocks compared to the Falcon 2-3.5”. If you can get a longer travel shock out of the falcons, it would be better for off-roading. However Fox is known for a softer ride than the falcons, so it depends what you are looking for.

I am planning to buy a Gadistor Sport S, I definitely want to go w/ 37s. What lift kits 1.5 will you recommend, since the Sport S, don't bring all the suspension stuff of the Rubicon. Thank.
@JKGearandGadgets
@JKGearandGadgets 4 жыл бұрын
With the sport S you will want 3-3.5” lift with 37s, the rubicon has high clearance fender flares

Dang looks like you have a serious windshield crack at about 3:20, but I just do a lot of 2 track back road off roading in the mud so I may stay at a 3 inch lift with AT 37’s or 2 inch lift with AT 35’s

JK Gear and Gadgets That’s awesome. You guys have been inspiring my build plans for sure. I guess if you had a choice would you take the 37s and 1.5” spacer over running 35’s and a 2” lift? That was the original plan that seems so many others have gone with.
@JKGearandGadgets
@JKGearandGadgets 4 жыл бұрын
Garo Nalabandian it depends what you want to do with it. 2” and 35s is a good DD with a mix of very easy trail rides. For trails like this, 37s and 1.5” or 2” lift will be best

JK Gear and Gadgets not sure I can afford to regear at this point. I’ve got a manual trans so just trying to figure it all out. I’m used to old land rovers where we didn’t have all these lifts and big tires. My JK opened me up to jeeps but that was a 2 door rubi with 2” lift and 33s. It got me where I needed to. The JT is new to me and your videos are great. Thanks man!

So overall how does it do on road with the 37s and stock gearing. Is it sluggish, is 8th out of the question? What about fuel milage?
@JKGearandGadgets
@JKGearandGadgets 4 жыл бұрын
On road it does great. Not very sluggish but a little noticeable, still have 8th except for hills, and around 14-15 mpg how I drive. A regear will fix all of this. But it is easily manageable
