Excellent presentation, was a firefighter and officer for over 25 years and learned so much about fire behavior from this presentation. I am considering returning to the service as a pump operator and watching this may assist me in watching smoke and fire conditions for interior attack crews. Thank you for posting.

Well then welcome too the firefighter family.. Get a good training and never get complacent, stay alert always and get as much education as you can about firefighting... there is so much knowledge about good tactics.. don't get stuck in knowledge from 30 years ago.. good luck and stay safe.

Welcome man, I highly recommend watching the link JB91710 posted, I just watched but I have been fortunate enough to have already learned most of it, yet it never hurts to rewatch/refresh your memory of it. Be sure to stay safe, absorb all good knowledge like a sponge & always be there for your brothers/sisters, they will be there for you either for good times or bad. 🚨🚒👍

Not from the area, but I can tell you a tip. Volunteer. That's the best way to get your foot in the door with no experience. If Virginia Beach doesn't have volunteers, find a department to volunteer with. Become an EMT. Get involved with emergency services. Attend community events w/fire department and talk to firefighters in your area.
