Agreed. 12 W7 basically has the cone area of a 15inch woofer, while the 13 W7 has the cone area of an 18in woofer. Putting that into consideration, as well as JL's engineering, you have arguably the best SQL woofer on the market, ever.

Its much louder when the subs are in the back facing forward. Its all about acoustics with the camaro. You will notice a great increase in bass when you buy or make a box to actually fit in the Hatch. You will Enjoy it a whole lot more also because you will have your back seats back lol. Get a Box for the Hatch, man.

I want to see those in person! I just got 2 starter 12w0v3's in the basswedge way overpowered cranked as high as possible without distortion. I was parked by the river and heard them loud a kilometer away over the river bank! Being that these arent ported i dont think they would be as loud although they are w7's. those are the shallow mount ones, arent they? Ported is loud, okay quality. Unported is tight, punchy, good quality but not as loud. I put my brothers 15" alpine type r's to shame

i have the same 2 subs and 500 watt amp but with a custom box in my 04 tahoe. the stock box works, but if you can afford to go with a bigger box, do it. mines as wide as my trunk/hatch space and 15'' tall and 15'' deep with a 15'' port. they sound amazing. enough rumble to make my girls hair dance and tickle my balls but not so much shaking that my truck falls apart or does too much funk with my rear view mirror lol. id recommend this setup to anyone

I bought 2 of these off a former old friend back in 2009 I can't remember how much he sold them to me for, but they've been sitting in my room closet since I bought them. I never installed them, I remember in 2011 taking it to a Audio shop to test them to see if they were still working a guy tested both Subwoofers and said they are working. I plan to get a custom ported box build to the right specs and a good 600watts RMS amp and install it in my Winter beater.

I agree, but like I said, a crappy sub will always be a crappy sub. Yes, the box makes a huge difference and that is why car audio is something that costs money when you want to hang with the big boys. There are so many components that make up the car audio industry from the alternator in your vehicle, to the power capacitor or battery on the amp.

Gotta warn you if you haven't done it yet, I put 1 12 in a custom ported box designed and built by me into a friends firebird and we put it where your subs are at and ended up blowing out the seal on the bottom of the rear glass, you might want to think about moving them to the back seat area (after removing it of course), thats what I'm gonna do in my 99 Firebird I just got 32 hours ago.

Omg I just downgraded to W1s 13.5" subs from fosgates P3 15s and holy Shit man I'm a JL fan now these 8 year old svc 8ohm subs only getting 550 rms @4ohms have deeper and cleaner bass than my 15s on a good amp getting 1400 watts true rms Lmao. nah, just put a kinetik battery in there , all that system needs is a hc600 in the back and it wont have trouble starting. i have two of those in sereis and it solved my charging issues, very efficient batteries.

yeah Ive tried a prefab ported box that i literally had to Squeeze into the back, and idk what happened or what was going on, but it sounded like shit. Once I put it back into the Sealed it was back to normal. From MY experience, Sealed is going to sound amazing in the camaro trunk. I've had POLICE say " YOUR SHIT WAS SLUMPIN" haha.

Everybody says JL is the best because they sound good and have good quality, but everybody knows it's 90% about the box, if your box is designed shitty, its gonna sound like shit, if you take any sub like from Sundown Audio, DC Audio, AA, FI, Skar Audio or Incriminator Audio and if you make the right box tuned at the right frequency, it will blow JL out of the water SPL wise and SQ wise.

Of course L7's are louder but your comparing one of kickers top models to Jl's bottom models. A L7 is more along the lines of a W6-W7 which the JL will be louder sound better and last a lot longer. I have had both and I take JL over all others. If nothing else the resale is awsome you can sell a W7 for $400-$500 after you wear it out.

Tammy Forbes jl audio is ridiculously overpriced lol for the same price you can get badass completion subs like sundown audio,dd audio,crescendo audio.. any of those have extremely powerful subs for a way better price than jl and bump way harder lol don't get me wrong jl makes some beautiful subs but for the price I'd go elsewhere and get even more bang for my buck!

Thats debatable. But there is no way a JL W6 or W7 can compare to a L7. L7s may be loud, but JL W7 produces dependable accurate bass. With great Output. Kicker is great if you want bass that you can get quicky because of the price. but long term i would stick with JL

You need to fix your charging system. Upgrade to the big alt. Add bigger wires. And another battery. Cause your car is at risk of a rookie. Otherwise nice choice in subs. Get a 1000w JL slash amp.

lolatruck he should have sufficient electrical for this build , i say anything above 1500 watts rms you need to upgrade your electrical system , start with a few extrea batteries and go to 0 guage wire , and the big 3 no matter what power your running , then the alternator to top it all off , but at his system would be fine on stock electrical , i always suggest the big 3 tho to any vehicle your putting a system in .it depends on the car too tho , i had to upgrade to 2 batteries (soon to be 4) high current deep cycle, a custom built singer alt for a 2010 civic , big 3 done with double zero guage , and thats for 5 k and ill be able to run that no problem , usually domestic cars have higher amp alts , especially v8s lol my friend drives a mustang with 1700 rms on a sundown audio x 12 v2 on stock electrical no problemo ! , get a volt meter

its funny even comparing top of the line kicker L7's which are strictly spl subs to these bottom of the line JL's ( completely a sq brand ). Kicker does some reliable , low cost subs that need little power and get loud but anything around the price of a L7 will be louder and alot better sounding than them. Re audio , JL , Rockford , Alpine , even mtx will be louder than the l7's in that price range, i still can't believe how overrated they are. Only thing i would get from kicker is the solo X

jl audio is knockin... kickers r cheap n generic.... kickers 15 L7 say 1000 rms... they can only handle like 800 - 900 rms.. one of my buddies blew one up with a jl 1000/1... lol.. now he switched to a jl w7 and can boost up all bass on it... i think even the 12s on jl can rock the kickers l7... trust me...i also have a video but ima make more when i get the chance...
