Does your Camaro need a catch can?
Simple answer is possibly! A catch can will prevent a lot of oil deposits from entering the internal components of your engine. By doing so you will prolong the performance and efficiency of your Camaro's engine.
Basically the blow-by will, overtime, reduce engine efficiency by coating your intake in oil and fuel. Blow-by has the potential to destroy the engine and it will cause a decrease in horsepower. Think of the oil catch can as a way to protect your engine. You probably have several Camaro mods already in place or in the works, so you want to protect those new Camaro parts.
JLT has designed their oil separator to be an easy installation using their push lock hoses connecting into the OEM ports.
Maintenance:
How often should I drain my catch can?
It is suggested to check your catch can every oil change and empty if necessary. If you do more spirited driving then frequently check catch can to ensure that you are no over filling the can.

I put one of these on my 2017 Silverado LTZ with a 5.3. I was amazed at the amount of oil I found in the can. I think these direct injection motors are for the birds.

Direct injection motors create more crank case pressure, which in turn causes more oil to flow through the system. Good call on the catch can with your Silverado!

Got it on my 2012 Silverado 5.3 it keeps alot of oil out of the intake, I have to empty it every couple weeks. Easy install

I think you described the flow incorrectly. It’s suppose to come in through the open side and run up through the filters and back in the intake. If it was flowing the other direction there would be a clog that would develop in the first hose as the finer stainless is closest in the direction of flow.

When or how often do I check the catch can for oil depots? How do you clean them?

We suggest every oil change unless you do a lot of spirited driving, then every month is a good time period to check. All you will have to do is twist the lower portion of the can off and pour out the excess oil deposits.

On the catch can itself, it's recommended that you clean the screen with brake cleaner every 10,000 miles.

There are a lot of different styles available. There are some for the early 5th gen and some for the late 5th gen, it all depends on what style fits your set up and which one would fit your model.

Yes, that will fit the V6. You will only have to find the vacuum line for it to work properly since the instructions are for the SS.

Unfortunately not. The routing for the V6 is going to be different when compared to the V8.
