They should start making gp9's again. They should especially remake nkp gp9 514

Indeed indeed, those numberboards are pretty awesome looking on the NKP unit. They finally look three dimensional!

Great review as usual. I'm just getting into the hobby. My favorite locos so far are Walthers Proto (I have a SW1200 Illinois Terminal which is superb, and a BN GP9 great too), then Atlas Gold (MP15DC and FM H16-44). I have an InterMountain IT SD40-2 on order. Doubt if I'll buy BLI again (SW7 with Paragon3).

I love dcc and sound, but miss the good old days when companies like athearn would use metal railings.

A question, Does this Walthers Proto EMD SD9 come in PRR also? I want to do a St. Louis/East St.Louis type of layout because it would include all these roads from the 30's through the early 60's. I prefer early diesels and Steam during the pre-crossover era to cross over era.

Is that a broken white vertical handrail on 539 by the steps? (3 minutes 35 secs)

My vote goes to..... Nickel Plate RR!! Horn is loud (and very clear) enough to wake the neighbours... Two doors down! lol!!

Love the videos! Great stuff man. That flashing light is called a gyro-lite if I recall correctly. Mars light was usually a red one just above the gryo-light. Southern Pacific was known for gyro-lite and mars lights on their high-hoods. The old "SP light package".

Lighted Number Boards? You haven't mentioned it on two or three Walther's Proto SD9 reviews. What's the deal? Y N?

Overall a good review, but lacking on the historical background of Proto SD9 and the changes since its original release by Life-Like. Could be more informative about the different features each road had and why.
