wonderful... really nice instrument bro. Mayura's have come a long way ... its better than the cold timbre of the STL that we get to see often. plus your playing style is something i love and its so apt for the mystic ;) ... you love your first note on the tone field to be super low... dont you :D

Good for you :) you seem to enjoy it a lot. Yeah low mystic are not very common... They are just like C# mystic 7 but with an additional E3 as the first note in the circle.

When I watch the first video with Mayura stainless steel which you made 5 months ago , I must ask: did they really improve so much in that short time ? 5 months ago it was typical metallic sound of stainless handpans. But now it sounds super soft, creamy, juicy and brilliant at the same time. Looks like they found a very special material. Would you say so?

I would say the following : - 1st video was his very first attempt at working on stainless steel. It was a basic 1mm rolled shell. It was therefore a prototype. For a 1st attempt and with regard to the light material used it actually turned out quite good, big volume, well singing, but yes kind of cold as most STL instrument are - This instrument is made with thicker 1.2 mm deepdrawn stainless steel shell - much better material, very customized cooking methods and more experience tuning this material. - Mayura is a very talented maker, always very humble and persevering

@@handpan-relaxingmeditation3316 You're welcome. Also it was kind of the ideal situation because I took it when it was freshly glued. Played it for a couple of week to let it "mature" and then brought it back to him for the final details (finishing the rim, final-final tuning) and while he was doing that I was beside him. He would hammer, hand it to me to try, and I would give him instant feedback on what I wanted like less activation there, more activation here, a bit of blooming please. And even for the rim I asked to make it softer and thinner which also affected the roundness of the sound.... That was a great to make it exactly dialed as I wanted!! Almost "custom work"

@@jorisjansen2877 I've been playing since mid 2014. I think this C# low mystic sound model is very nice for meditative playing. I don't think it is a difficult one. But a more versatile sound model still in the minor family would be Kurd 9+1 for sure

Dear Jean-Matthieu, when i saw this video here the first time in october 2020 i was overwhelmed by the phantastic sound of this STL instrument (which you demonstrated perfectly in this video), because normally STLs have to much sustain which prevents you from playing fast and also other STLs have a "hollow" sound i don't like. This exellent sound seems to have his reason in the thicker, 1,2mm, material and the heat treatment as you wrote. so i checked out the Mayura website to check for the estimated waiting time. the website was showing (and still is until today) a waiting time of 3-5 month for STLs. So i contacted Remi and asked if i can order "Low Mystic", but not in "C#" as the one you played in the video, but in "B". he confirmed that he can build the pan in this tuning, waiting time about 4-5 month, 2000€. i have to transfer 150 € deposit for the reservation and if possible to send him an evatec for shipping the instrument to me when finished. this was ok for me and so i transferred the deposit on 11.10.2020 and started to wait (waiting time was very important for me because i'm very sick). handpan builders are artists and have to be treated as such, so you shouldn't chase them if it takes a bit longer to get the instrument. mid of june 2021, when the 9th month of waiting had started whitout beeing contacted by Remi, i contacted him by mail and asked for the reason (i thought maybe he is affected by the law suit between panart vs. ayasa because there was a note on his website that is also using material/shells from ayasa). he replied that i haven't been forgotten, he has shoulder problems and therefore i will take "a little bit longer". i thought 9 month is already more than "a little bit longer" as 4-5 month, but also thought it's still worth to wait longer for such a good sounding instrument. after 14 month (!!!) of waiting (this is 1 year and 2 month...) without being contacted by him in any way for an explaination about the waiting being already 3 times longer as he told me when i ordered the instrument, i decided to cancel my order on 28.12.2021. it was... and still is... my opinion that Remi is actual building the best sounding STL handpans in the world. But i don wan't to deal any further with someone who gives a shit on his customers (at least the non-french ones, because it seems that customers from france don't have a problem to get instruments quite in time. there are many new videos of new Mayura handpans... but only of french guys). handpan builders are artists and have to be treated as such, but they are also businessman that are making a lot of money and so they have to fulfill at least a minimum of correct business behavior and keep their customers updated if there are any delays etc.. Remi never responded to my cancelation (which i expected). it's not the fact of loosing my 150€ deposit, and not the fact i bought an extra evatec case to send it to Remi for shipping the finished instrument to me (nobody wants to buy a case and also pay for shipping costs). It is the fact of loosing 14 month of waiting (life-) time. i'm very sick and have to go to hospital for about 4 month now, not knowing if, or in which condition i'll be back. so it doesn't make sense anymore to enter the waiting queue of another handpan builder... but thank YOU for your phantastic videos and "full exploration videos". I wish i could play as good as you..... (or half as good...)
