They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What may seem an eyesore to one person, just might be a beautiful masterpiece to another. There are places beloved by communities and protected in the hearts of those that hold their memories of its tattered hallways and decayed rooms dear. This is the way that we feel when we explore places that have been forgotten by time. Left to rot and decay and only holding the silent whispers of what once was. We know that there are people out there with malicious intent toward these places that we venture into. It saddens us when we see the filth and destruction they leave behind, but we want to make something very clear… We are explorers and lovers of history. We in no way, shape or form condone the criminal activities that take place in the historical decaying places that we document. Social media has brought many of these places to the limelight, but the intention is to show the beauty and mystery of abandonment. Not to invite trouble. Trouble will find its way on its own and to say that the peaceful documentation of these places leads to criminal activity, is mind blowing. We have met so many amazing fellow explorers in our travels and are so thankful and humbled by the positive responses we have received. We know that this type of exploration is not for everyone…many people don’t understand why we find such beauty in decay, we can only explain it as a beautiful journey into the past. We invite you to watch our explores and come along as we visit these amazing places. As for the criminal activity that occurs, those individuals are responsible for their own actions. It is a terrible part of our society, but reality, nonetheless. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for loving this location just as much as we do. We hope that through this video, the memories held within will remain.

Thank you so much for this video. I’ve always wanted to see the site of this tragedy, but can’t do so due to health issues. You made it real for me, and I shudder at the thought of what those poor souls experienced so many years ago. What a compelling view of the crash site. Very much appreciated!

This comment makes our hearts so happy! When we first started filming our explores and adventures, it was to document our experiences for our own memories. Along the way, we discovered that we could take people along with us to places they may never get to see. Thank you so much for coming along with us! We have a few more videos coming up from our time in New Mexico and have a playlist that features some of our other favorite hikes. We hope to hear from you again! Have a wonderful weekend!

What they experienced was instantaneous. When you are traveling at what was likely over 150mph and slam into something like a mountain, you're gone in a second.

That is not the actual impact site, it was actually a few hundred feet above where it hit the edge of the ridge, the debris then rained into that canyon as well as some into the one to the west. There are more parts further up from where you left off as well as imbedded in the rocks above and along the top of the ridge, interestingly most of the wreckage has been removed. Initially it was left in place but later when they reopened the investigation they pulled out much of the flight deck remnants. Then when the tram was built they removed the bulk of the wreckage as it would have been highly visible to passengers, especially the parts that were high up on the rocks. Only about a third of the fuselage and wings remain, along with the engines and landing gear (due to their weight). BTW the chair was not part of the aircraft.

Thank you for watching and commenting and for giving us all that amazing information. A lot of time when we explore a location, we don't exactly know the whole story but it's great when a viewer can give us some information!!!

You guys did an amazing job on this video, as u always do!! But seeing this was so very heartbreaking!! All the parts of the plane scattered everywhere was unreal...But for me, the most haunting of it all, was that airplane seat...Someone's very last moments of life was while sitting on that 😢... I hate saying this, but I truly hope that everyone that was on that flight, had died instantly on impact... But my thoughts, heart, and prayers go out to all the victims of this crash, and to all their family members and loved ones!! **May they all RIP🙏💜😢

It is so sad to think about the passengers and crew and their last moments of life. The accident happened very shortly after take-off, so we can pray that maybe the passengers didn’t realize what was happening. For me (Jen) it was seeing the windows. When I am on a plane, I love to look out of the window. To see the windows resting on the ground, made my heart ache. I purchased a book written by one of the members of the recovery crew and will be learning more about this flight and the people who were on the flight. Thank you so much for watching and for this wonderful comment!!

That actually was not part of the aircraft. Someone brought it up there in the mid-eighties for people to "sit in and contemplate" 🙄

I'm a pilot here in town and plan to visit the site later this summer or early fall. I think I want to erect a new plaque made of CNC cut steel. What's there now is so old and faded at this point that it needs to be refreshed while also being longer lasting.
@virgilhilts39244 ай бұрын
Everything needs to be simply left alone. People keep going up there and moving things around and screwing with stuff, for instance the NLG tires were originally near the top of talus slope where they came to rest people rolled them down to the bottom. The same with many of the parts near the bottom, people go up and for some reason feel the need to bring parts down and pile them up. It look quite different than it did 40+ years ago.

@@virgilhilts3924 Yeah no kidding, these people come from outta state and can't keep their dumbass hands off of stuff then it ruins the authenticity of the site. If anything a sign needs to be put up that says " KEEP YOUR GODDAM HANDS OFF OF ANY RELICS"

Wow, I’m really surprised TWA just left all that debris there 😢 Im also surprised the forest service let them. If I crash and total my car I’m not allowed to just leave it on the side of the road.
@JMExplorations2 жыл бұрын
Well there is absolutely no way to get up there to remove any debris. It is a very treacherous 4 hour hike up 4000 ft to the debris field. We didn’t show a lot of the hike up because it was too dangerous to hold the camera and climb big rocks and stuff! It’s hardly the same as car parts on the side of the road!
