From Scream Bloody Gore, to The Sound of Perseverance, the emerging of the Florida Death Metal scene, and tragedy, the history of Chuck Schuldiner's band Death, and the impact they left on too many genres and bands/artists to count, is one that deserves to be properly talked about.
With a flawless discography, an everchanging line-up consisting of powerful figures in the heavy metal, thrash metal, death metal and progressive death metal scenes, and a nonstop innovating style, Death left an imprint of death metal, technical death metal, melodic death metal and so much more that will never be replicated to the same degree.
A household name now, with the recognition in the heavy metal world unlike many--if any--other death metal bands, Death's tragic ending, and the road to that point is not only fascinating to examine, but wonderful to pay homage to.
Rest in power, Chuck. Wherever you are, just know we'll never forget what you gave us while you were here.
