Think it was really the only way to do it. Considering he left the show himself because he wanted to focus on other things. They had to make up something so they went back to Izzie and the whole when she wanted kids situation. I hate the way he left.. and it’s true if he came back he wouldn’t of been able to leave. But it’s Alex, he loves kids and always wanted to be a family and he stepped right into one he never knew he had. It wouldn’t be Alex if he left his own kids considering how he grew up and wouldn’t want to do that to his own kids.

It's not so much *what* happened (well, that too) but *how* it was presented. All those episodes where Alex was AWOL, they could have started building the storyline of his exit. Instead, we get a single-episode story which is the laziest piece of writing ever produced on primetime TV. It's like something written on a napkin, during some writer's 20-minute taxi ride home. ONE lame-ass letter, full of telling-not-showing, REPEATED three times with only slightly different phrasing just to fill the screen-time, which of course wasn't nearly reached just with the three iterations of the letter, so they went "whatevs, just fill the rest with flashbacks".

This is so heartbreaking. This was a total character assasination of Alex. He was so in love with Jo since s9. He even told Arizona that he was in love with an intern.This hurts so much. I know that Jolex couldn't be endgame due to Justin leaving, but they should have killed him off instead, and made Jo pregnant with his baby. Jolex was suposed to be it. Him still being in love with Izzie makes zero sense. This was ooc behavior of Alex. he would never do that to someone he claimed to love. Please make more Jolex videos.

I'm getting so annoyed that people think killing off Derek was WORSE than what they did here with Alex/Jo and this is a great way to paint it and try to get some of them to see our point of view - what if they'd had Derek disappear with no goodbye on Meredith and just ghost his wife after everything because of noble obligations of some kind... the comparison falls apart and is hard to fully make because Derek already had kids with Meredith and it isn't that likely that he would've donated sperm to someone or somewhere leading to how he'd then suddenly have kids elsewhere to raise, if you could imagine him and Meredith never having kids though... idk. basically Derek's death, none of the other deaths, were worse writing than this. We're talking about the difference between horrible characterization and misunderstanding of the fundamental nature of who your character is and what choices they would likely make, compared with annoying plot points around a character's life without all the character assassination. I hated how they killed off Mark Sloan in large part because he was alive and fine at the end of a season finale and then the season resumes and he's in a hospital bed in a coma or something worse than that idk, never to be shown awake and conscious again, where it feels like a weird part of the storyline was skipped... and it would've been better to either make it clear his health was in danger in the season finale, or show the experience of the shock of him not being fine as it all started in the aftermath, instead of just skipping to him essentially being brain dead. But while it was kinda pretty bad writing, it was not nearly as big a betrayal of the character as what this choice of Alex's was.

But because she’s an adult it’s okay to leave her, someone Alex built a relationship with and actually knows for kids who were born without his consent? Over the last week I've read a lot of comments where people believe that this ending for Alex makes sense. That he and Izzie were always the end game and I would agree with this ending if he had been married to anyone EXCEPT Jo!! The fact of the matter is that, REALISTICALLY, he would NEVER have done this to Jo! Not with who Jo's character is and who they were as a couple; all of the history between them and everything they overcame. This ending just doesn't fit with his character as long as he's attached to Jo!

It kind of reminds me of season 2. When Derek chose Addison because he thought it was the right thing to do. Because he had been married to her for 11 years. But in the end he chose Meredith because he loves her more. Now Alex chose Izzie because they have kids together. But I really hope that in the en of the show he will come back to Jo because their love has always been so pure. (Sorry for the mistakes, English is not my first language)

I know how talented you are. I'm jealous of you finding a handful of scenes I couldn't find or even had forgotten about but mainly I'm just loving this emotional video so much. Poor Jo. Your editing in this is so beautiful. The song choice works so well and is so full of the right kind of pain.

this is so heartbreaking... apart from how the writers ruin alex’s character. i am really in pieces for jo, she was the love of his life, she thought she was and the second later she was just a woman he loved. she loves him so much, she trusted him, she married him and then one day he left her for another woman who for 5 years didn’t even dare to call alex and tell him she has their children. jo was alex’s everything and the same with alex. i have never experienced it, but somehow I really feel the pain jo is feeling and i am so proud of her because she didn’t leave everything, she didn’t give up, she faced the truth and go on.

This is a beautiful video, I'm in tears... Jo and Alex were endgame, and I'd imagine if Justin Chambers stayed the writers wouldn't have done this to their story-line. I'd prefer him walking out on Jo then killing him off, I am still not over Derek dying!! Izzie Steven was not the woman for him so I'm annoyed that's what the writers chose to use as an exit... However, your work is so good, keep creating amazing content

I was truly shocked I was so happy that he found jo it was truly like that one person who knew what it was like to walk in his shoes because she was always strong but struggling to first get out of the system and then make something happen $ educationally finally get to a successful job to become a doctor that is a wonderful success story for both Alex and Wilson to start out with the things that are such obstacles to overcome with such wonderful grace and to never let anything stop you from doing anything but you're absolute best for each person that walks through the door
