Explanation: 'Wetten, dass...!' /'I'll bet you that...!' is a popular German TV show; ordinary people bet on being able to perform unusual or difficult tasks.
'Ganze Kerle' was the theatre play Jo participated in when Olli went to Ibiza.
Pierre Sanoussi-Bliss is a German actor, director and author. 'Der Alte'/ 'The old one' is a German detective series. 'Traumschiff'/'Dream boat' is a series about a cruise ship that travels to beautiful places around the world (with lots of love stories) and 'Forsthaus Falkenau'/'Forester's lodge Falkenau' is a series telling stories about the life of a forester's family.
All of the shows that are mentioned are long running shows on ZDF, the broadcasting station that also airs 'Volle Kane' .
Kyrill is the name of a hurricane that devastated many regions in Europe in 2007.

Thank you so much for posting this and doing the subs. I am not a fan of hunting but Thore seems really thoughtful about it and I agree with him that those of us who eat meat tend to ignore where it really came from.

That Thore is a hunter doesn't bother me. He is not a trophy hunter, but he & his family eat what they kill. Just because it's not my thing does not diminish Thore the actor in my eyes 1 bit. Conversely, Jo (another lovely) is neither increased nor diminished by the fact the he does not hunt. Everyone has to eat. I trust that Thore is clean & precise in his killing since they do expect to eat the food.

I used to feel a little...*ick* about Thore hunting, but he is really eloquent and thoughtful when explaining it. Jo. the hairdryers are weird...but you're so damned adorable i don't care anyway. Thanks MM!! :-*

I think hunting is much of a cultural thing! I guess, especially when you grow up in the country like Thore it's much easier& more possible that you get in contact with hunting in early age without thinking about your reasons first. I know many people who hunt& they do it for many reason - often they have a hunter/ forester family background, though with sportive& thrilling elements, strolling in the woods is also very recreative& satisfying& imo is in fact more natural than just buying meat.

In a way, I agree with Thore; slaughter house are cruel to animals, and wild game is probably healthier and less harmful for human consumption. However, I question whether or not the animal cruelty and dietary aspects of the issue are what drives him to hunt. I suspect that the thrill of shooting an animal is the underlying motive. Don't get me wrong, I like Thor and his response to the issue, but felt that the latter was a little formulaic and contrived.

NOOOOOO Thore how can u shot animals :( I have been vegetarian for half of my life... I do agree this is how the world works.. living killing the living, but we have a choice not to be part of it ... Now all I have is my Christian love.. cuz my thore love is gone :(
