Both these ladies were wonderful in their own way. Joan didn't judge her and let her tell her tale. Connie seemed like a down to earth person who's love was obviously what she did and it's her life, she didn't hurt anyone and she seemed to be really happy with her choice. I saw Joan in concert in Sydney years ago and she was one of the funniest people I've ever seen. We need more women like this - honest, open and unafraid to be who they want to be. I am a 60 yr old woman. I have by NO means been a saint much of my life, yet this interview left me with a heavy heart and in tears. A room full of people cheering over a woman pleasuring a dozen men in a night?? Now dead at 66. I wonder how many of those "friends" she spoke of will offer to pay for a funeral for her. So sad.

As she once said...."Many Girls would kill to be were i am" and I believe it! Especially back in the 70s. One thing is for sure, nobody should judge her. Sadly that's the reality of that life. That interview drops a few clues as she admits to having no family and talks mostly about being close with them and being friends with them. I've had a lot of female friends like that and sadly they have all said the same thing. They use sex to get friends but it really isnt about the sex to them. It's about the sense of belonging and family. Sure there some who aren't lacking in personal love or affection in their lives and they really enjoy what they do. As far as her lasting friendships with these people, I really would be curious to see what would happen if she asked Don Henley for a favor.

@@zenobiaw831 The men could have said no. Connie had friends, both male and female. Was/is she happy? Who knows? The life she chose maybe would have made you sad and lonely had you chosen it, but when someone else chooses it, it's only becomes a judgement of them on your part. Maybe some people only have aquaintances with sex in the mix and they are truly happy. What makes some people happy has zero to do with what makes you happy.

It's a shame Joan didn't ask her any spiritual questions. "do you believe in God"...."do you believe in SIN"......"do you think there are consequences for your decisions in this life?"......"Do you ever feel bad for the wives and girlfriends whose relationships you may have helped destroy"....."or children whose families were torn apart because of their fathers committing adultery with you"? Would like to have seen how she answers some of those type questions.

@Philip Holmes I've never met her. I knew she was married to Michael DesBarres and I read her book, "I'm With The Band." I didn't move here to Los Angeles until October of 1994, the last days of The FM Station and The Country Club, which was just a couple blocks up the street from where I lived on Sherman Way in Reseda. KNAC folded up and switched formats in the spring of 95. Bad time for hard rock in L.A. Even "World Famous KROQ" relegated Rodney Bingenheimer to a voice-tracked one-hour show at 2am early Monday morning.
