Yeah they all look so much older. I don't understand why they have Jewell looking like she's straight out of a nursing home. The actress who plays her doesn't look as old as they have her looking in the movie. Why'd they make her look so damn old, if it's set 10 years after the final episode of the show? I just now finished the show, after not watching it for a year. Every time that music plays, as the final episode begins to close, it bums me out. They could've done SO much more. Whoever is in charge of HBO (or was at the time) is an idiot. Best show I've ever seen. Even with the actors aging quite a bit, I still wouldn't mind a revival of the show, having it take place right after the movies story. Just have Al wake up the next morning feeling better, and Doc can say he's a medical miracle of some kind. Just sad that we'll never again see something new from the world of Deadwood.

The Doc was one of the best characters. But, but, every character was superbly acted, supporting and recurring. This, and the script writing made this show beyond awesome. Not one bad episode. Dan and Jonny were just brilliant, and Cy too. And Trixie shone like a star amongst other stars. When Trixie saw Ellsworth dead, oh man... you caned it.

"Friday it is." The writing in the movie did make some of the characters occasionally speak in a different style when compared to the TV show. In the show, Doc would've said to Al: "it's Friday", or "it's fucking Friday, Al." There was a scene between Sol Starr and Trixie that felt similar, where they both talked in a more "heightened" style. Maybe it was intentional. Who am I to question David Milch. It was most likely intentional.

David Milch has Alzheimers. :( It might have started when making the movie.

That was one problem I had with the movie too, it felt like they were trying to write deadwood instead of naturally writing the deadwood style. During the run of the show the style must have fit like a glove, after 10 years away from it they must have had some trouble getting back into that groove

@@leereitz That really annoyed me about the movie. They gave him a pretty severe case of tuberculosis (coughing up blood) in season 3, but then in the movie 10 years later (when he should be dead) they act like that story line never existed and he's just fine. It's nice that they wanted to have him in the movie, but it makes completely zero sense and just degrades the movie.
