Since it is NOT a craft iron which is made for this purpose I would say try at the lowest setting first. If you think you will do more then I suggest you get a craft iron. You can get for as little as $10.00 Amazon, Hobby Lobby, etc.

These are very nice and pretty simple to make. I noticed you did not put any decoupage glue on top to protect the cards. How durable are they?

Hi! The napkin is not adhered with Mod Podge and it’s on card stock. So MP on top would make a wrinkle mess. They’re can’t be overly handled. 🙂 Joan

The plastic wrap just wood and paper. You can make gift tags, bookmarks, etc out of the card stock using the same method. 🙂 Joan

Hi Cindy! Yes you can use a regular iron, no steam. Household irons are larger so you need to make sure all the plastic wrap is covered by the baking parchment. Crafting irons are really the way to go. A small craft iron or traveling iron from Walmart are inexpensive. I read Dollar Tree has one for $5.00 but I’m not sure if that’s true. - Joan

I watched one of your videos on doing this on a tin can. How do you get your paint to look smooth? I’ve tried with a brush and I see the brush mark lines and I’ve also tried it with the sponge brush and it shows the sponge marks. It’s not smooth at all 🤦‍♀️ help plz lol

Really cute projects. Do you use any type of mod podge or water-based poly acrylic to seal the items on your wood pieces? I had made a few last year and when I put the mod podge on it wrinkled but I don’t like the idea of don’t touch it too much and it will be fine. I would rather protect it with some type of sealer. What are your suggestions please?

Use a clear spray sealant like Rustoleum. Use 2 or more light coats, allowing drying time between coats. Don’t use a brush-on sealant. Joan

Joan, do you think this process could be done with a printed photograph ? Would love to make ornaments of whole family passed on n living for a very special Christmas tree. I really love the simplicity and speed of this project with a sptacular product. 👏👏👏good job girl

Hi! If you want to do photo’s on ornaments using this process I recommenced printed pictures not the developed paper. You can use the same method. 🌷 Joan

Cutterbee scissors are great for fussy cutting but I love my long Tim Holtz shears for trimming and cutting paper.
