If you want more pollinators, you should get CA natives. Sages, mallows, yarrow, etc. Local flora brings local fauna. Check out Plant Material. They have 3 locations, glassell park, silver lake, and Altadena. The staff at this nursery is super friendly and knowledgeable so they should be able to help you find something for your space! I’m currently converting my grass yard to a native landscape and I’ve gotten all my plants from them. Good luck!!! 😊

England just had a heatwave of 35 degrees + in houses that are brick and insulated and designed to keep heat inside, with no AC, just fans that blow hot air around... girl, I feel you, summer is the worst! Autumn/winter/spring allllll the way!

in germany we don't have AC's in regular flats or homes. (just sometimes in big stores and modern offices etc), so, where I live it's also like 100 degree in the summer and i don't have AC and it's HELL girl- i tell ya! love ya x

I actually have three rose bushes that are doing great in ceramic pots. I have a Henry Fonda and 2 others (I forgot their names). Our neighbor has over 30+ rose bushes so he gives me fertilizer that works wonders.

Believe me, if even you didn't live in LA you'd still hate summer. I hate summer with a passion and I live in Europe (where it's definitely not warm and sunny all year like in LA) It's been like 100 degrees for the last two months (heatwave pretty much all over Europe) and I literally can't function, I can't even read my books comfortably cause I'm constantly sweating and annoyed (I don't have AC at home which makes it all 100 times worse🙃) When it gets above 80 degrees I literally wanna cry I can talk about how much I hate summer all day lol, sorry bout the rant
