Joanna your dress was absolutely perfect because it draped on your body's curves perfectly. The weight of that fabric allowed for the beautiful draping and how the train flowed behind you. When my daughter got married 8 years ago every bridal shop in NYC we went to carried sizes 12 -14 because apparently that is the average size now. The average size used to be 6-8 back in the day when larger women had no real choice of fashion in stores. People don't realize that these days a petite woman will find that stores have eliminated or reduced the petite section to a small corner. So when we went to try on wedding gowns the only samples were 4-6 sizes too large and all the pinning in the world did not give you a true idea of what it would look like in reality. My older daughter who was a bridesmaid and a plus size had a horrible time finding sample sizes for her in shop as well. As you said the whole industry needs an adjustment and maybe bridal shops who buy the samples should be given discounts to carry more sizes. Afterall, they would benefit from more sales due to inclusivity and the designer's would benefit as well.

Your dress was so perfect for you Joanna. Not only was it beautiful, but it fit you so well. You looked so gorgeous. The other dresses you tried did not compliment your body like this one did. Although you did look adorable in the "prom" type dress.....but it didn't look like a wedding dress. Thank you so much for sharing your dress story. The veil was also beautiful. The length was perfect and fit the look of your dress so well. Such a fantastic wedding 😍

The smile on your face when you're trying on your dress (the one you ordered)! So perfect. I also did so much research into the bridal stores I went to which sucked because there's one right walking distance from my house here in London, but they don't carry anything larger than a UK12 and I'm a UK16. Thankfully the shops I went to were wonderful and I didn't have a bad experience trying on dresses at all, although I am also on the cusp of straight and plus sizing. 100% recommend Angelica Bridal, and HeartAFlutter Bridal in London, and White Lace and Butterflies in Great Missenden.

Joanna THANK YOU for posting your bridal makeup tutorial on Tik Tok. I just had a disastrous MU trial 2 weeks out from my wedding, leaving me in tears. But I went home to try it myself and followed your tutorial and I LOVE my makeup now. I am so excited to do my own makeup for the wedding, thank you!!

When I got engaged I couldn’t wait to buy a dress so before we planned anything I bought my wedding dress! 7 years later , 2 babies, and an addiction to bread we never got married cause of the stress and money of planning a wedding was to much. So we decided to eloped to Vegas and call it a day, only problem was that my wedding dress no longer fit and wasn’t my style anymore ( mermaid style )! I literally bought a dress from Urban outfitters 40% off sale for $20! 😂

I feel like you worked so hard to get what you pictured for your wedding (for everything) but in this video obvi for your dress & girl - you did the damn thing!! *ewww - did I just say that out loud? Lol! But you looked gorgeous Joanna & you looked gorgeous bcse clearly that is the way you felt & it showed!! I'm so glad you felt like a bride should on her special day! You & Ted made a beautiful couple! And I LOVE, LOVE that you got the most out of your dress & also got to put your pretty PJ's on for that last hour of the wedding & be 100% Free & Comfy!! Great telling of the unfortunate bridal shop woes but of your triumph of finding the perfect dress & a wonderful designer even in the face of such narrow minds & asses!!

Did you end up wearing the Paula Babies? If so, are you glad you did? Were they comfortable? I watched this video the other day and don’t recall you mentioning the shoes, though I remember you planning to wear them. I’m considering them for my wedding as well!
