Every time you talk about your anxiety and medication management - it really encourages me to continue to work through my own anxiety and that I will be okay. Thank you so much for that.

Omg the landlord part, I swear they are always saying the most ridiculous things. My bathroom sink was clogged and he asked if I’ve been washing my work boots.. what work boots I work from home on my computer. He seemed fully convinced I was washing work booths with mud and rocks, bye

I used to think that I could only use the living proof dry shampoo but then I found out that I wasn’t using dry shampoo properly - you’re supposed to leave it to sink in for a bit and then blast it out if your hair with the cool setting on your hairdryer so that the grease and dry shampoo doesn’t just sit on your hair. So now I use £5 dry shampoo and it’s perfect. Maybe you do this already but if you don’t then you have to try!

I used to have a panic attack every time I flew, would take Xanax and that helped for a while but would still get panic attacks even on Xanax. I started taking a beta blocker (propranolol) that suppresses your adrenaline and it was a total game changer! Never have a panic attack, and am not sedated so I can drive after. I am relaxed on the plane because I know I will not have an attack no matter how nervous I get. Everyone has their own methods tho!! I totally understand the plane anxiety! Also get the same feelings on highways.

Hey Joanna - also just wanted to tell you I am still cross tapering between the generic Cymbalta & the Citalopram I have been taking for over 10 yrs & I also think it is starting to have a positive effect on me! I tried it on your review of how it had worked well for you & the Citalopram (generic Celexa - in case u didn't know) def wasn't doing jack for me. I'm still struggling with situational stuff so it is a little hard to tell fully...but I am noticing a difference! So...I guess we'll see. I know the day I just get into the shower w/out a second thought will be the day I have found my miracle med...does such a thing even exist? Anyway, just wanted to share. I'm so happy for you that you went with your gut & chose to try the Cymbalta again & that you're reaping the rewards..
@joannaspicer Жыл бұрын
So happy to hear you’re finding some relief! The right med does exist. So even if it’s not cymbalta don’t give up. You will take a shower without a thought someday for sure.

i loooove the little tulip mugs!! 😍🌷 im from australia but live in canada, and hadn't seen my family since before the pandemic, so we took my 9 month old on the 30hr long haul flight there and back 😂 she was actually great! but on the way back we had two little boys crawling over our seats and shit. nightmare doesnt even begin to describe it. when we got off that flight i couldnt believe i get to live the rest of my life without those boys. my partner takes valium for flights too, it was a trip lol ✌️ edit: oh and when we finally arrived, i realised i left my vintage denim jacket on the plane so we had to wait an hour AT THE EXIT while they got it back yaay

i'm not sure how in depth you've talked about this, apologise if I've missed it. but could you talk more about your flight anxiety and how it came about? what you mentioned sounds similar to my experience. I've always been an anxious person but flying wasn't too bad for me at first, but a couple uncomfy flights/delays led to my first menty b on a flight a few weeks ago lol. just awful, I was ready to stand up and demand they let me off. anyways, I feel like we may have similar experiences so I'm interested! starting to consider medication for when I travel in the future.
@joannaspicer Жыл бұрын
Nothing major happened it was similar to yours. I was unmedicated on a flight years ago and had a crippling panic attack and that lead to a deep fear of being trapped on a plane again. But the more pleasant flights I have the easier it gets. Medication for flights have been so crucial for me

To me, Not a Perfume smells like if there was special edition of Sprite soda that was wood and amber flavored 😂. Like, there is definitely something ambery and woods there, but it is also crisp, and fresh, and effervescent.

That’s why benzos are dangerous though, the effect diminishes as you become dependent so you need to take more
@joannaspicer Жыл бұрын
I’m not gonna become dependent on a 5 hour flight
@amberlimbaugh Жыл бұрын
This depends on the person. I've been on benzos for crippling anxiety and agoraphobia for 5 years now. I've never once increased my dosage. If I'm having a decent day, I won't take it, or I'll take half. If it helps improve my quality of life, even if I have to be on it forever, I'm fine with that. I'd rather be busy living and enjoying life vs. wanting to claw out of my own skin.
@joannaspicer Жыл бұрын
Yes they are dangerous when taken long term but no one is talking about that right now.
