thanks for the video joanne :) do you recommend just slipping the first stitch of every row on too the new needle instead of knitting them? i recently started knitting and saw that tip for clean edges, but my scarf came out kind of curly and not straight!

I know many people slip the first stitch. I personally like to knit it. If you're making a scarf, you might want to add 2 or 3 knit stitches at the sides, that way you have a cleaner edge.

I have been practicing the ribbed stitch. I'll kn1 pu1 and when its time to turn my work. its seems I have start off purl and then kn. I turn again and start with a knit stitch. In most videos I've watched it states to always start each row the same. but also a kn goes to kn & pu to pu. I feel I'm doing something very wrong.

Veronica Smith. I'm new to knitting myself... but count your stitches. That happens when you have an odd number of stitches. 1,3,5,7,9. If you have an even number you should be starting with the same stitch on every row. If your cast on was an even number, make sure you haven't dropped or added more stitches somewhere.

Hi...thank you....can you make a vedio to show us how to make the sides knitting in good looking and the same shap..( the sides I mean the first and last stitch in the row )

NAWAL343 Yes. I really don't mind having a bumpy side if all the stitches look alike. If it's really important, you slip the first stitch as if to purl and then continue with the regular stitch. These are called "Edge Stitches" and do not count as part as the regular stitch to follow in the pattern.
