Job Advancement without DEX - Desermore [ 3 ]

This fight has always been pretty tough, but missing most hits makes it so much harder its laughable. I actually tried a similar challenge a few years ago without recording and ran out of potions 5 minutes in. I ended up taking over an hour to gather the 30 marbles.

How is it with Cash shop items? are your allowed to buy like equips in cashshop or Gachapon tickets and sell the items your recieve from gacha to npc stores?

Good question! I meant to touch on this in earlier episodes but I cut it for time. I'm essentially treating this as a Free to Play experience from 2006, so no Gachapon or conveniences like skill point resets, stat changes, etc. Im also going without cosmetics for the most part to really maximize nostalgia

It's way rougher than I remembered initially. This server has some boosted XP though so its not soo bad but definitely a different experience from most games nowadays. Glad you're enjoying it!

The silver lining is as far as I remember, about 60 dex was all a warrior needed for it's whole career. So getting the equivalent in accuracy by any means should get you to zakum as well. I think the hardest part is no trading, as we saw the drop rates can be quite brutal. Nice videos, hope you'll make it :)

It's surprising how little is "required" for sure. A lot of content ends up locked but it's neat to find workarounds and make-do with what's available.

The heavens hammer was a nice point. At least with a fighter you can use rage to save mesos on ciders while grinding

I am very excited by your persistence! I recently got nostalgic for maplestory, so I downloaded it again, but it was not at all what I remembered. This series gave me the vibes of old maplestory. watching this just makes me drool for nexon to build an old school maplestory server from the ground up. If they did it similar to the 2019 wow classic launch, I bet we'd see a similar takeover akin to that one on for pc gamers.

Subbed for the journey, I always have the itch to do something like this but quit like 20 minutes in because I don't have the young energy like I use to also if you want true maple experience then change to a 4:3 ratio resolution, as you can tell the game wasn't designed to be played in widescreen

@@tujou It's personal preference how you want to play, 4:3 gives the true old school experience though. Biggest example I can give is when you go into shops there are no longer giant black voids on both sides of the screen.

The damage is lacking a lot of the time, accuracy sucks, and they're super slow. But i've only ever played warriors and there's just something about it.. maybe the fact we're just doing our best gives it character

Good choice you didn't take page because since you play old school maple Heaven's hammer doesn't kill any monster, it would mean you would have to kill them with power guard which will make you burn pots. In my opinion your best choice would have been spearman, because besides the good accuracy on the weapon it also gets at 4th job 50 accuracy from it's beholder hexagon skill.

I had no idea about Heaven's Hammer! Looked great on paper. Good to know. Spearman was a fantastic choice cause of that buff, it was just a mouthful so I had it removed in editing.

It's just a spreadsheet that I update by hand. After I labelled and colored all the boxes, I apply all the monsters to their boxes in an image editor.
