I knew an HR manager years ago and she explained in normal circumstances when you are younger job hopping (you don’t like the job or you thinks not a good fit) it is expected you are still trying see where you want stay or retire. If you are still job hopping and you get older this doesn’t like good and you are giving the perception that you can’t or won’t keep a job for whatever reason .😮

This is true that you can get paid more money, but one caveat is that if you're constantly job hopping, it starts to look bad for you. I have been told directly by an interviewer something to this effect. I was going to leave my last employer, which gave me a lower security clearance, and I was about to go through a year long interview process that required a higher clearance. If you tell this person that you're basically job hopping, they're less interested in you. They fear after all the government money they've wasted on you, you're in the end not going to take the job. I told this person that I was interested in exploring opportunities, and obviously they weren't interested. Yes, job hopping can make you more money. I job hopped and make 15k more than what I was making (almost 6 figures.) But this decision can affect your prospects of landing other jobs.

The fastest way to go broke and be unhirable once the economy tanks. 2022 is not normal and when the power shifts back to the employer the folks who don't stick for 3 years or have gaps get filtered out by the applicant tracking system
