Have to write this long(ish) note. Like many of us here, I have been following Job Kurian from his Amrita Superstar times. Whenever he came up with a performance, he impressed all of us - with his versatility, unpredictability and sheer heartfullness he puts into them. He became the singer every young kid looked up to. As far as I remember, the concept of a medley was new unknown to me, until when Job came with the Hallowed be Thy name -> Shivadam Shivanaamam -> Thooliyile Aadavantha -> Duniya ke Rakhwale medley roughly based on Durbari Kaanada. What even _/|\_. My father still says to me that he can't listen to it without shredding a drop or two of tears. Later, when I had a fortunate opportunity to attend another Amrita Superstar B Lakshmi's wedding, I met this wonderful soul who redefined humility for me. His passion for music is so expressive when he talks. I remember him telling me to learn and understand nuances like chord inversion when I said I had a thing for piano. Today, when he stands as an independent musician/producer what not to call it other than 'Hope'. A hope to millions like me who tend to do something towards music, sometime in life. A hope that if you are persistent enough, you will get what you seek. A hope that there is still hope to hope for :) Thank you Job ettan (angane vilikkallo alle :P) Ipo oru relaxation thonnundu.

This is so true, even I'm a crazy fan of this amazing human. I'm not much into music but I just love listening to Job. And what makes me adore him is him constant fight towards making a space for artists outside of cinema. Singers have always been confined within the film industry which has put a lot of restrictions on them. Job ettan, right from the beginning has always wanted to make a space of his own. And now we can see where this is heading. More and more independent artists are going to come up and Job ettan is someone everyone can look upto. He has also made it easier for the coming up artists by proving to a large audience that good music need not always come from film alone. Job ettan is playing a huge part in the change that's taking place in the music industry with independent artists coming up. Now there are more and more artists coming up everyday, but remember this man came up at a time when people would mock at albums. Job ettan is ♥️
