JOB LOT 17: Apple Madness - $40 for 6 Devices from E-Waste! How will it all go?

Also I complain a lot in this one also, hope it's not too bad.
Greetings and welcome to another installment in my job lot series! This is very simple - I tinker around with various phones and stuff and you just get to chill with me while I do that. That's pretty much all there is to it.
People love to have these on in the background so the video quality doesn't have to be top notch but if you do choose to watch through it then you may see some iffy quality. Most of the time the repairs aren't really being shown in frame and the lighting is just stuff I found at ewaste and stuck to my desk. If it looks ok then let me know.
This originally went for 8hrs22m with raw footage that I cut down to 2hrs24m.
I decided to not go completely ham with editing. Just edited out minor bits here and there so it's a lot less jumpy if that makes sense. It is still jumpy but not as disruptive as ones I have done in the past.
Folks always request Job Lots and I have delivered.

That iPhone 5s had a rare iOS version! Slide to unlock means it’s iOS 9 or older. The newest version for the 5s is iOS 12.

Talk about Apple and ewaste! I had found so many iPhone 6(s) in parts on ewaste bins that I recently put together a Frankenstein iPhone 6! Display, motherboard, home button, battery, front camera and earpiece, taptic engine, housing, sim tray, screws and even the camera glass, all came from different phones! Plus the motherboard I used I had to iCloud bypass so that was a fun project and I love my little Frankenstein gold iPhone 6 with a black display and white home button, it’s a great add on my collection of more than 100 phones 25+ iPhones from ewaste!

you can trigger a system erase while keeping the ios version with a ssh ramdisk on some 64bit devices and get activation tickets before that to activate even if the device is activation locked and fyi, the 5s was on 9 and the 6s was on 10

Apparently, SOYES has unleashed a new mini-phone on Aliexpress and Banggood, the XS16 Pro. It has 2100mAh, 128GB, 4GB RAM and Android 10. Unlike the XS16, which should be rocking a MTK6767, SOC is not detailed in this one, but I guess it should be better? It also has a bit more resolution (400x960) and more bands. Unfortunately it is a bit bigger, but also rocks 1 inch bigger screen. And of course still feature the obnoxious fake cameras. Apparently it also has some extra black-magic features: Holographic touch technology (3D touch?) and AI facial recognition (yeah). No reviews so far on internet. Can you review it, SMOOREZ? Thanks!

They have updated the stats in all pages (Wish, Aliexpress, etc) and it apparently bundles an Helio P22 (AFAIK, SOYES doesn't lie about the specs), which should be far more powerful than the 6737 in the XS16. Of course Jelly Star is still light years ahead (Helio G99), but I would like to try this one as well.

Why do the majority of people take so little care of their tech? If i'm spending hundreds or even thousands on a gadget i will protect it as much as possible. Those smashed screens are almost heartbreaking. I have devices approaching 20 years old and they still look almost new.

finally i finished to watch just now (after 2 days, wow i'm so fast lol). well i don't have much time with 2 jobs and sh!t to do around the house but, i still find the time to watch those relaxing ramblings. you were lucky to get most of the iphones without icloud, i really love how the 6s turned out. and yeah, i do own a note, and it's a pretty big boy to carry around. i mean, now all the phones are that big but after 4 years i kinda want to switch to a compact one (i do have my eyes on the zenfone 10 :). and for the 3g, most of the time my 4g is slow as a fart! and my phone does have lte but it doesn't work for me, so most of the time i run on 3g since is faster lol.

That odd screw you took out is a inception screw in other words a screw within a screw. They started using those in the Iphone 6. If you have the Mantis kit from Ifixit they have a bit just for that hex screw.

At a moment you said about bypasses, if you have passcode, you can use something like 007 Ramdisk, Silver if you have Mac OS, or even Unlock Tool if you have licence (other 2 are free) and you can do bypass with signal and it just works for free (works only till iphone x)

Had a Note 2 with the Exynos you can over clock them and push the CPU, while also undervolting it. Makes the battery last for days and game run great.

Cool video as always ! Maybe use a diffuser for the lights, it can7be helpful . You can just tape some white paper (or toilet paper)on them ,I think it will work just fine .

I’ve had luck contacting the original owner or their family through Medical ID on the emergency call screen and explaining my situation. The only issue is that you’re at their discretion in terms of whether or not they want to go through the trouble of removing an old device off of a possibly forgotten Apple ID from years ago. Also if they aren’t technology savvy there will be a lot of explaining to do. However, I was able to use this method to remove the iCloud from an iPhone 6S 64gb that I paid $2 for at an estate sale. My best phone score yet!

my work started doing ewaste and I said id take care of it. there are alot of apple products that end up in there. I mainly take the ipods. ive gotton so many from it lol. tho I do take the ipads and iphones if they arnt icloud locked and fix and reset them. tho the locked ones if they charge still I remove the battery and keep for spares. I like the idea of saving stuff and giving it new life, tho they all sit on a shelf on display now and I use them sometimes lol

I also got an iPhone XS Max for 12€ today. Cracked on both sides but other than that it works completely fine, no iCloud. Also an iPhone 8 for 6€, exact same thing. Cracked, unlocked, working.

sorry if i sound nerdy in this comment but I cringed at the sight of you just willy nilly restoring all the devices without at least trying to do some investigation on what ios version these devices were on. your best friend with devices that are checkm8 exploit compatible is going to be the ssh ramdisk as it allows you to a) reset the data without needing a restore and b) backing up the activation tickets on devices that would've been icloud locked if you had saved the activation tickets before hand as it is relatively easy to put them back on the device after you do a restore
