Defense counsel is making me angry during settlement negotiations. How should I think here?

Where I work they have placed some people on paid leave, let others go after paid leave and all of them are saying they won't settle for less than 500k. What I find hilarious is all of them are being let go for various reasons, none of which are reasons you can even begin to try and get a settlement from.

May you please do a video on why a defendant would try to wait until the end of discovery to attempt deposition and to subpoena medical record from over 7 years ago that have no relevance to the case ?

@@kaiservisuals ok, I understand pre-existing conditions but it has already been established that my injuries occurred in 2020 so why the need to go all the way back to 2017? That’s so annoying. Either way , I hope to have it quashed. It’s late in discovery and they had ample opportunity to do it.

Hi Vince. I propose this question for a new video... If one has data showing that a government agency has offered other complainants with the same or less "levels" of illegal harassment as a 4th person but offered much less $ to the 4th person who is in a different protected class compared to the other 3, can this data be leveraged to show systemic discrimination (in addition to leveraging a higher settlement amount)?

Is defense/respondent more willing to negotiate and settle when the case involves retaliation? Since in a retaliation case attorney fees can be added to a jury award. Thus, increasing the award substantially.
