@@insurgentleman Not at all, outside of the toys (mainly the ones Andy owns, and some like Slinky don't look that great either), the movie has aged a lot. Lighting in most scenes is terrible, humans look more plastic than the toys, the dog looks like It was stung by bees, lots of textures for the enviroment are too plain, etc.
@insurgentleman Жыл бұрын
@@jackmesrel4933 I appreciate your opinion but I heavily disagree. For it being the first 3D animated movie it still looks great, especially considering other 3D movie titles from the 90s like Antz
@jackmesrel4933 Жыл бұрын
@@insurgentleman True, for the time it was way ahead compared to it's peers that would appear later on, but it doesn't change the fact that several technical elements have aged poorly. IMO, graphics wise TS2 is the one that still holds up the best out of the two, not only cus the models are just flat out better, but cus the lighting and animations are more natural in general, and those kinds of things if done well can make 3D enviroments age well (Easy example is Dead Space, while the models and textures look old as hell, thanks to how brilliant the use of lighting is, it still looks pretty damn good as long as there's not too much light cast on them. Let's not even talk about Dead Space 2, some recently released games look worse than it.)

I think the idea of making a setting where everything and everyone is made out of metal was a pretty good idea for cgi at the time. I love how this movie took the Toy Story and Zelda Windwaker approach of "let's make the graphical style and setting something that our current technology can already do well, so that the visuals don't succumb to the flow of time." If you look for upscaled scenes from this movie, it genuinely looks really nice.

They need to bring back movies like this where they weren't scared of putting adult humor and entendres in children's movies. The whole point of jokes like those is that kids aren't going to get it, but adults can have a nice chuckle in secret understanding. I would love to see unique and original movies like this one being made again and I am NOT talking about a stupid remake.
@thejuiceking22196 ай бұрын
i'm sorry, are you telling me you DON'T want a live action remake of the 2005 animated movie Robots? with Rodney being played by Chris Pratt? and Bigweld also being played by Chris Pratt?
@imaniwilliams8166 ай бұрын
@@thejuiceking2219 Absolutely not. I've yet to see a remake that held a candle to its original counterpart and they would suck all of the humor out because some of it isn't child appropriate or "woke" on top of making it a hyper realistic soulless CGI. No thanks. I'm tired of remakes where I already know the story and "new" movies that either rehash the plot of iconic/well selling movies or try to force an opinion down your throat; I want something different.
@thejuiceking22196 ай бұрын
@@imaniwilliams816 i agree with you for the most part, but also...is this movie also not trying to put forward a message?
@imaniwilliams8166 ай бұрын
@@thejuiceking2219 Yes, all movies try to portray a message! I wasn't saying that movies shouldn't have a point, just that I don't like it when they're very in your face and preachy about it. I took my sister to see the Barbie movie for her birthday and while I liked the message, I didn't like the movie because it felt very forceful and kept loudly emphasizing its point in an excessive manner. I don't really know if I'm explaining it right, it just feels like some movies are more awkward about getting their point across than others.
