One of my all time fave movies. And I was crew on this movie, on the beach, trailer park, Heathrow and farmhouse sets in Leavesden Studios in Watford. Cold and windy and muddy most of the time, but fantastic to be a (small) part of it . Tom has huge energy, and absolutely wanted to make the best film he possibly could. The weird thing was, I used to work for British Aerospace in the eighties, making the 146 airliner, and one of the wrecked aircraft on the beach set was a 146, probably one I had some hand in producing.

Man. Tom Cruise is the man. I've always loved his movies and have been a huge Cruise fan. Everyone else did such a great job. Bill Paxton's "fiery crucible" to "wake up maggot" type dialogs + Emily's loveliness was amazing. Great movie that deserves a sequel but we won't get it now. Cruise is 60+ and looks quite different now compared to 2014. They should've shot it in 2015 or 2016 tops.

I normally I hate to see for example hive-minds, monsters that are gimmicky/doesn't look like they could function in the real world and time travel stuff. This movie got all of that, yet it's one of my favourite sci-fi action movies of all time. It just shows that when you pour soul, competence and talent into something whatever it is, it will be great.

Cruise is 62 now, and it’s showing. He was just over 50 while actually in production on this movie. The sequel has been ‘in development’ for a decade now. Realistically speaking, the feasible window to get a sequel with this Tom Cruise has already gone, unfortunately. Blunt could still do it, but she’s only 40. But don’t worry, the 4th Despicable Me is out and there’ll be another Kong vs Godzilla sequel soon.
