"I have come here to kick ass and chew bubblegum. And I'm all out of bubblegum." Classic one-liner. Thank you, Carpenter! ❤ 🎬 🔥

The They Live fight really has no stakes in it which makes it a good fight as it's not like a car chase where you know the protagonist will eventually get away not matter how insane it gets. The big fight is just over putting on a pair of sunglasses so anyone could win without really steering the plot much, but seriously why the heck wouldn't Frank just put on the glasses to just at least humor Nada, Frank really must of wanted to just kick his ass since the day they met or something.

I love Silver Bullett. I have not read Cycle of the Werewolf yet. Megan Follows was also in the movie. Which was a big deal for us kids who were Anne of Green Gables fans.

Unfortunately for the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark movie, the artwork is less scary when made into CG.

Absolutely not! Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is definitely not better as the movie we got!

I like Silver Bullet. It's corny but to me it's good 1980s corniness. The reactions of the Sheriff and the father of Brady seem to be genuine reactions. They look genuinely horrified instead of just acting like they're horrified.

I would love a remake of Silver Bullet if the right person was in charge it could be one of the top Werewolf movies! I just watched Silver Bullet two nights ago and while it’s a pretty good movie, it’s aging fast!

I'm still waiting for a true to form adaptation of Lovecraft work. Given modern Hollywood, I dont want them to touch it. Also, Steven King is the most overrated writer. It and the dark tower are okay. However, he never really developed the world. It plays out as a meh storyline, with shallow depth and low on expanding on certain characters.

Guillermo del Toro has been trying to make At the Mountains of Madness for years and supposedly his screenplay is spot-on. Problem is, all the studios want a PG-13 rated film, but del Toro refuses to compromise.

Lovecraft's always been a difficult one to adapt because it leaves so much to the imagination. It's only been in the last 10-15 years that the technology's finally advanced enough for it to be possible. Currently the best true to form adaptations I've come across are the films done by the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society. I highly recommend Call of Cthulhu which is on TubiTV currently.
@Techgunius24 күн бұрын
@MSinistrari thanks. I appreciate the recommendation. The last Lovecraft adaptation I've seen is the cheesy 2001 Dagon.
@MSinistrari23 күн бұрын
@@Techgunius I also recommend the 2010 Color out of Space. It's in German, not sure where it's streaming currently, but it's pretty good. The Cage film from 2019's a gorgeous film, but they made too many changes to the story.

The movie of The Fury is definitely better than the book. I like to collect books/novelizations of movies, and with The Fury, the movie's mostly the last third to quarter of the book which the bulk of the book being the most dry draggy slog I've read outside of Victorian literature.

"Dude"? You mean John Carpenter? Who did develop a remake in 2010 but walked away because he knew it would suck & anger his fans? That "dude"? We are not friends.
