This scene is interesting but devoid of logic. For a guy as smart as the German SS officer, he couldn't figure out a better way to deal with the imposters better than outing himself and getting into a shootout where death would be certain? Why not play dumb, quietly slip out and then come back with backup? The imposters were with a famous actress so it's not like it would be super hard to track them down.

The scene was a masterpiece until the moment Hellstrom (the SS officer) drew his gun being seated right in front of the enemy, with his soldiers still unaware of the situation. All he had to do was stand up, walk past Hicox (the English agent) as if he was pretending to leave, put his left hand on Hicox's shoulder, neutralizing his capacity to react, then call for the attention of the soldiers under his command, calmly but with seriousness, and tell them to grab their things and approach to the officer's table, cuz the party is over and they must say goodbye to the actress Hammersmack. If the bastards decide to act, Hellstrom can quickly shoot Hicox without immediately getting shot himself, and then throw himself to the ground and to his left to get away from the coming crossfire. If the bastards don't react yet, then in a matter of seconds Hellstrom and his men would be completely surrounding the bastards, having them in the worst possible disadvantage: outnumbered, seated and giving their backs to the soldiers. Then he can arrest them, or in the worst case scenario eliminate all of them while not losing all his men.
