@@midstoftwilight $125 being very little, mostly, depends on how much they make from these videos. If they do make a lot more than that, then it's a bit scummy, but I doubt it, as they don't, generally, get all that many views. Also, it depends on where the person doing the work is from. In my country, the minimum monthly wage is 665€, with a 40h per week work schedule, so $125 for 30h doesn't sound too bad.

I swear, Warner Bros. must be one of the worst managed studios in Hollywood. They have SO many great properties that seem to only succeed by chance or after a director fights like hell to make their movie. No other studio has such horrible self-inflicted failures. I don't know why anyone would want to work with them.

As a comic book fan, it’s very frustrating watching them fumble the DCEU so damn badly. I was even praying that the DC property would some how be bought by Disney. As blasphemous that may sound to others. But at least they know what they are doing. And show that they actually care for their Marvel property. Can’t say the same for WB and DC WB’s main issues with the DCEU is that they wanted to catch up with Marvel in a year. When Marvel was building something that took them 4 years (Iron Man 2008 - Avengers 2012) and it didn’t help that they had too many cooks in the kitchen. Each one wanting the property in a different direction. Rather than having a single voice steering the ship. And whenever something didn’t go well, they would “course correct” adding more fuel to the fire of ‘they don’t know what the f^€k they’re doing’ They’re like a Hydra. Each head fighting each other for selfish gain. That’s why Josstice League ended up the way it is. It obviously needed to be pushed back and worked on more. But they didn’t. All for a CEO to cash his pay check before the end of the year.

That's absolute bullshit. If you've ever seen any interview from this film, you'd know it was made by a lot of talented and very passionate people, it just came together in the worst way. Aspects that looked good on paper were awful in execution, and different sensibilities crashed (E.g. Martin Campbell's grounded approach doesn't match with Geoff Johns' comic book fanboy approach).

I always felt sorry for Green Lantern. It had great director, amazing cast and the CGI wasn't that bad. The problem was lack of love put into the product. @@jothishprabu8 It was Guillermo del Toro who wanted the money. He wanted around $250m for the third film in a franchise that never made its budget money back at the box office. The original Hellboy cost $66m to make, it took $59m gross at the box office, but it did well enough in dvd sales to get the sequel green lit. Hellboy 2 cost $85m to make and took $75m gross at the box office and didn't do as well as the first in dvd sales. So for him to ask for $250m for a third film based on those figures, the man was crazy and that's why they cheaped out and tried to reboot it with a film that wasn't bad, if the previous two films hadn't existed, I bet people would have enjoyed it, but sadly we were already spoiled buy the right director for the right property. That being said, I would really love someone to give Guillermo del Toro the rights and the money to take on the Nightbreed franchise. As much as I love the original and the Cabal cut, I think he'd be perfect for the job and would happily see him reboot it.

This movie had a large list of issues, but I think the backlash against this was way too disproportionate. Had it been released a few years earlier it would have likely generated a more positive reception. The story is easy to follow, the characters properly established and well cast, it's not riddled with plot holes or nonsensical dialogue and it doesn't depend on a Deus Ex Machina. But, of course, it doesn't really make an effort to stand out. Its biggest issue is that it's too generic.

What's so sad is that the DC animated movies are so much better than the live action. Green Lantern First Flight was great and would have made a great live action.

The should reboot the franchise and go with John Stewart. After establishing the character, then try bringing back Jordan in a future movie that might lead into a Green Lantern Corps movie.

I like John steward more but the fanbase for comics just favor Hal Jordan more. (I can’t even lie I just prefer John Stewart because the DCAU HOWEVER ever since that show I got more interested in the character and decided to read more of his and even Hal Jordan comics. I still prefer John, a lot had to do with the nostalgia for the animated tv show)

@@somegeekguy I'm a huge GL fan and i prefer hal to john since hal was dubbed the greatest of the lanterns. Also, he has more memorable arcs in the books than john does. But if it was me, I'd very much want to start the story with kyle rayner (having the corps dead and gone), then slowly rebuilding the corps and the rest of the sector 2814 lanterns with it (hal, john, guy).

I think that if the studio had simply let Martin Campbell do his job, GL would have become a fan favorite among superhero films. That June 2011 day I was at my local theater, the final scene of Sinestro turning yellow comes up to tease a sequel...my brother and I both said "Yeah, that ain't happening."

It made the mistake of saving its big villain for a sequel that never happened. The first movie was just a setup for the second, but because it was an afterthought, it suffered. To a lesser degree, Justice League made the same mistake.

"But Goyer passed on both" False, David Goyer actually wrote a Flash script after that offer. It's pretty good, a surprisingly restrained script to come from Goyer. It's kinda like Batman Begins meets Sam Raimi's Spider-Man.

Oddly enough, Reynolds just admitted, for all his wink-at-the-audience jokes he's had about Green Lantern, he just admitted a week or so ago that he's actually never watched the movie(!). He sat down and watched it recently and said it wasn't bad after all :/

Green Lantern was no better or worse than any of the other DC super hero movie in my opinion. But that's just my opinion, I don't put bums on seats in the cinemas and other factors determine a films success or failure and that is a major problem for any movie.

Another tidbit. I remember reading that it was going to be an adaption of "Green Lantern Secret Origin," which was a brand new origin tale of Hal and him becoming Green Lantern. It's actually a phenomenal origin book that goes through his history, his training and pits him against a smaller (but still tough) enemy at the end. That story would have been amazing to see on screen (think Batman Begins, but with Green Lantern).

I did some 3D modeling and texture work in college. Always thought it was interesting that the movie will get credit, the director and actors will get credit, the costume and makeup designer will get credit, but the meticulous detail and hard work put into things like Hals suit, all that animation and painting of those textures... no one gives a shit who did that. Yeah, sure, name at the end of a 5 minute long scrolling list, and I suppose these are mostly outside businesses contracted to do work, like Dreamworks before it was in film, but even then you rarely ever know their names, certainly not awarded anything like "best model or best texture". This movie got crapped on pretty hard, but it still looks neat. Some of what is probably thousands of jobs and people doing brilliant work, but we'll never know who they are despite the quality, even overshadowed because of how a movie is received.

i saw this DC movie in the theaters opening weekend as a about 6 years long DC comics book read and collector i loved the movie and bought the blu ray dvd it's still one of my favorite DC/WB superhero movies i only thought was weird was one of the guardians of OA giving Sinestro his yellow ring to him. and thought the CGI in this movie was fine even his costume after all most DCWB movies uses some parts of newer DC comics stuff like ideals and storylines. after all even though hal Jordan costume should been practical costume Ryan should worn and rest of the cast but i can understand why they went CGI and besides that Kyle Rayner costume in the comics was made out of the energy or his mind of the ring. and as a x DC comic book reader and collector was lost who was hector hammond might been i forget who he was since i haven't at the time of the movie i haven't read or collected any DC comics since the early 90's and was completely lost who was paralex since it was a much later villain in the comics. but if you just watch it and enjoy the movie like me you forget about the issues of the movie. i liked it iit ain't the best superhero movie of all time but it's on my top 10 favorite DCWB movies list as far as live action ones.
