Hello Allen, I had been scrolling through KZbin for CFA course possibilities, and I found your video. As of now, I'm employed with a Big4 spin-off company in U.S. Taxation for the past 3 years, and I've completed my Masters in Commerce. Apart from that I have also completed the Intermediate level in CMA. Been out of touch with academics for quite sometime now, but I've been interested in CFA for a long time. Since you are in the accounting side and if you want to be there then CFA won’t help. CPA might be a better choice.If you want to switch to investments side then qualification is not that important to enter. Typically answer to that question depends on the type of company you get into . Higher niche companies pay greater than 8 lacs. And lower pay scale companies can also start at 3.5. Hence the idea is not how much salary you get after CFA level 1 but what company can you crack.

Hey I would suggest doing CFA before MBA 1. If you already know that finance is where you want to specialise, then it makes sense because it will help you in getting some browny points during admission and also after program ends And since you come from a very unique background in pharma, i suggest using this to your advantage in investment banking by becoming a sector expert of pharma Best of luck

The best option is to complete CA and still get into investment banking without doing CFA. You don’t have to really leave CA to do that. Infact you can do CFA after CA.

Nope it doesn’t but you do get access to CFA jobs which is like jobs posted only for Cfa candidates. However you may want to make a note that campus placements tradition is only in India. Usually placements abroad even in Mba program happens through alumni network.

Why not do both ? You can very well start the CFA preparation and target the FEB 23 exam, while preparing for CAT. The reason I say so, is because MBA is good only if the college is in the top 15 category. God forbid you don’t get that college, then you would end up wasting another year.

Hi if you want to learn investment finance then go for it. And the level 1 & 2 packages are possible if the person starts working right from level 1. If you start from level 2 as a fresher than the salary will depend on the company but usually Tier1: 6-7 Tier 2: 5-6 botique-3-4

I would just add the CFA can open up practice but the practice is usually related to wealth management which can also be done with CFP Or cfa

Ofcourse you can.. after completing CFA level 1 there are plenty of entry level sell side research jobs available. But along with CFA level 1 would advise to learn financial modeling . Develop a general interest and curiosity in business too

Nothing matters. Interest matters. And passion matters. But complete CA first then move to CFA. You can get into invest industry also with CA but by learning some skills. I would suggest rather you learn financial modeling, that’s something you will need to crack interviews . mentormecareers.com/courses-financial-modeling-course-online/ once you get a basic entry into investment industry then you can start enhancing your profile with specialised qualifications like CFA. Don’t keep adding qualifications unnecessarily

hi i ma also ca finalist and planning to appear for level 1 in dec 22 or feb 23.. and tomorrow i have audit exam. only 3 papers are left sfm got exempted last time only.. and i m also 28 😅 INDS ruined this attempt as i was old course student so was not able to complete syllabus IND AS FR😅😅
