Having a Finance Masters before taking your CFA exams may make learning the content easier as much of it is covered in Masters studies. However, if one has attained their CFA before taking a Finance Masters, it is not worth the time, effort and money to attain a Masters degree.

The only requirement is a degree. I'm taking it with a social science degree. If anything, an engineering degree would be beneficial because you'll do better on quant.
