for Artificer, it started as an Eberron class but has "recently" been added to non-Eberron via Tasha's Guide(at least, I think it was Tasha's) and they also added the Armorer which if Jocat had known about back then would have likely said something along the lines of: "It's just Iron Man" But Artificer is a bit of a bitch to play since unlike every other class, you need an additional book regardless

7:15 fun fact: the cleric video was actually a 2nd take Jo did since he got a lot of feedback on the 1st attempt. In that one he was less aware of how nonsense busted 5e clerics can be and had slightly pigeonholed the class into a more stereotypical support role. Some of the bits from the 1st did make it into the rework and you can spot them by looking at the cleric's armor (if they don't have the big shoulder armor it's from the 1st)

14:12. Monk is my favorite class however I almost never play as one. The reason being that in my dnd group there is that one guy who ONLY plays monks (as in he is not interested in any other class at all) while I can play other classes. And no, no one stops me from picking monk together with him… other than myself. Idk why but I just have this weird obsession with trying to make our party as diverse as possible. That’s why I almost never take the monk because I know with 99% certainty my friend is gonna be one (we usually hide our characters until the day we start the campaign just to see what goofy setups we will accidentally create). But it’s fine, there are tons of fun classes and subclasses to choose from so I never really feel restricted.

You should def play a Monk next time. I'm the same way with trying to make a diverse party, but there are so many flavors of Monk you could fill most roles in a party. If the other Monk guy is cool you can even tie your backstories together. Maybe you come from the same monetary or maybe you're punching and kicking siblings (like Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee).
