Leif is an incredible role model. The man was rejected when he first tried to enter the SEALs, didn’t have a great GPA in school, didn’t crush the physical fitness tests like the other guys, had conduct issues on his record, but the guy did not quit. He powered through all of that until he got to where he wanted to be.

One thing a successful retiree never discloses is how they got to realize that the key to amassing wealth lies in making sound investments. I purchased my first home at the age of 21 for $87,000 and sold it for $197,000. My second home, acquired for $170,000, was later sold for $320,000, and my third property, purchased at $300,000, fetched $589,000, with buyers covering all closing costs and expenses. Not reaching a million before retirement feels like an unfulfilled goal.

Been going through these early podcasts that I honestly hadn't listened to before. The moment Jocko struggles literally made me shed a tear. God dammit, just by listening to how proud Leif and Jocko are of having had the PRIVILEGE of knowing Ryan, makes me wanna have met the man myself. I can only imagine the weight of all the losses Jocko and Leif have had to deal with, it's immeasurable. I've had my share of losses, but this was a very difficult moment in the podcast. Listened to this while hitting the gym as I'm recovering from an injury that rendered me unable to walk the first few weeks after the accident. podcasts are way more motivating than any sort of music at the gym, I'm a metalhead, but at the gym, Jocko's podcasts keep me laser focused.

When Jocko said “ I want to come back” about “Biggles” I have had that same feeling about aircrewmen best friends we lost in the HS community. The best years of my flying career was spent hauling Seal team 8 with HS 5….. I will never ever forget some of the greatest missions we flew them to and stayed until we got a code word to leave the area… if we got a dust off…. It never mattered how intense it could have been…. We were flying back in to get our team back and fight our way out…. I loved that tour and learned more about the quality of men and how intense but fun they all had….. it was epic!! Thank you for sharing this side of the after action report…. God bless you guys!!

Words are not enough, but i tried my best. It doesn´t matter where i come from or what my or your Government fucked up when it comes to descisions concerning war. I remember when I started listening to the Extreme Ownership audiobook, it starts with the foreword with Jocko's voice: Wow, that's probably the most badass sounding dude I ever heard. Then the next part is the preface read by Leif Babbin. I was in the subway and let out an audible laugh. "LOL, we're reaching levels of badassery that shouldn't even be possible" And every time they would alternate, I'd forget just how badass Leif sounds. I would always remember his voice was more gravely than Jocko's but every time it switched back to him, I was surprised by just how gravely it was.
