Daly, you're the type of individual many people should look up to. A thinker who serves his country, hates racism and bigotry, promotes service and a thankfulness to a nation which offers so much, and a family man. I thank you for being a leader and for the record, if you choose to publish this book, I'd be one of the first to buy it. Thank you for sharing your life's story.

The difference between Daly at the beginning of this podcast and the end is noteworthy. He'll never forget. He obviously feels deeply even after 70 years. He was struggling to keep his composure but showed no sign of turning away, no desire to end the podcast. He bares the memories with honour. What a guy.

One of many reasons this has become one of my top 3 podcasts - Jocko lets his guests speak! He asks pertinent questions and shows his guests enough respect to let their answers unwind organically, without constant interruptions. I love listening to the interviews. And this one in particular was very powerful. Well done. Thank you for sharing this with us.

The grim truth of war. Graphic, explicit, sincere, brave and honest. A memoir of a simple, but not an easy life. A life lived with those disfigured memories, admirable. Mr. Daly’s remarks to the Congressman from Texas (& the staff he assembled), pure & unapologetic, absolutely necessary. Words that should resonate loudly thru the office halls of our elected - Never forget. Raw, simply raw Jocko. Thank you for bringing Mr. Daly’s manuscript to life, amazing. It would be an understatement to say I have a lot of respect for Mr Daly. Even at his advanced age, he's still trying to process what he went through and as he said, the bad memories don't fade. Damn ...that was powerful stuff, almost a tearjerker thinking about the sick absurdity of WW1 with horse mounted cavalry charging entrenched machine gun positions, whole battalions blown to shreds while forming up and never even seeing the enemy etc. Thanks for the upload.

Excellent Podcast Jocko. Charles Daly is an amazing man. The combat that I've been in, in SOG sounds like a drop in the bucket compared to Mr. Daly's combat feats... I just can't imagine what it's like to fight in freezing winters. The WW1 and WW2 were horrible battles compared to today. I can't imagine what it would be like with enemy planes crashing into my ship (Kamikaze Japanese pilots)... At least they were appreciated for their service and the Americans treated them with respect, not like us who returned from Vietnam... Thank you Jocko for what you do and your awesome military career... jim

I was in Wal-Mart one day recently wearing my “Gulf War Veteran” hat when a young girl about 15-17 years old I estimate approached me and said, “Thank You For My Freedoms”! I was Absolutely Floored by that statement from this young girl and didn’t know what to say in response so I said, “It Was A Privilege”. Watching & listening to this man via Jocko makes me feel like a fucking joke and an imposter. Mr Daly is a Great Man, a Man like my own Father and GrandFather. If we are to survive as a Nation, we Must remove the Regressive Leftists and RINOS which are destroying us from the Houses Of Government in DC and not just Demonizing Boys & Men, but dictating through “Law” that Masculinity is to be destroyed! Mr Daly is a Prime Example of what an American Man MUST be. Thank You Mr Daly For MY Freedoms.

My grandfather was an army medic in Korea... He only told me one story about his time there... He said they used the teenage kids from villages to help do things around camp for treats n things. One time he walked in his tent n when he came back out a 12 year old boy tried to shoot him with a .45 almost point blank but missed and he felt bad cuz he punched the kid and broke his jaw... Later when I got a bit older myself, I told him I was going to join the army and he looked me straight in the eye and said “why would you want to do that? If there’s a war, all your friends die.....” I don’t remember what company he was in, but they got messed up bad and it really messed him up... I think many of them froze and he held a grudge against the army for not taking better care of them or something...
