Such a captivating story ... I loved the idea of commiting to something that you're afraid to do!!!👏
@Cuffsmaster2 жыл бұрын
This is also a story of commiting to medical school, failing out and hiding it from the Navy while completing a lesser demanding undergrad program. I am not sure that was not fraud and deception for personal gain. it does not sound like behavior befitting an officer and gentleman. I am sure the guy is a great guy but hell that was fraud and knowingly misusing government funds. At the same time he was denying the Navy the opportunity to train a Medical Doctor. It was a big investment for the Navy that he cheated them and someone else out of getting. Yeah I may be over thinking this but many have been thrown out of the Navy for far less misappropriating funds. Try stealing a Navy tool box for personal use, as an enlisted man. I saw a guy get kicked out for that.

@JR-ju3kj2 жыл бұрын
I think he'd make a great actor. A lot of veterans have gone into acting. If Randy Couture could do it,he sure could,too! And I like how he kind of politely put it how he could do what a lot of other SEALS couldn't do and how he could blend into the local populace in a Middle Eastern country(since most SEALs are overwhelmingly white males but that and the discussion of if the Teams need more diversity is another entirely different subject altogether). I had a friend and former co-worker from Colombia who told me about how people from Spanish-speaking countries and who come from that heritage can often times look like they're Arabic-and even vice-versa(which is one reason why Antonia Banderas was able tp pull off playing an Arabic warrior in the great movie ''The 13th Warrior'').

I can relate to that "I like a lot of it but I didn't like parts of it". I also work in a bank. I love what I do, it's what I always wanted. I'm grateful that I get to live my dream. But yes when you realize that your life revolves around it and you have very little time or energy for anything else, then you wonder. I started watching stuff like this when I felt like I'm at a cross road - making lemonade out of lemons or jumping into the unknown. Not sure really if this is mid life crisis, the effects of COVID-19 lock downs, or just me wanting more out of life. Anyway, I'm glad that he eventually found his spark after the teams. Best of luck!

He should have at least a million views only if people knew what they were missing because he’s not a general, MOH, or celebrity but is right up there with the rest in my opinion. I have listened to this 3 or times. His life story is very similar to mine maybe 😂why but seriously love it.

We were Carrying on at each other and things got a little heated. So after that I'm just working at the site when I get a phone call. I answer my phone and I hear," I'm going to F-you up etc etc. I'm obviously thinking it's this contractor I had argued with. So I bark back etc etc. Until I hear laughter. THat's really too bad. I'm also a protectionist. I would write my homework over and over again because I used a pen, and if I made one mistake, I'd tear it up and do it all over again. My mom was a perfectionist and she wouldn't let anyone, including us kids do the dishes because she thought that we wouldn't do them good enough, so in order to get to do the dishes, I had to do them better than her. Since my dad was a fireman, and gone all of the time working, we used to go out and play from sun up to sun down in the summer time.... In the winter time during school we used to finish our homework and go play outside, or go play outside, and do our homework at night. It was a beautiful childhood. I knew all of the neighborhood kids, we would play with our GI Joes first off, then we all got air rifles and we would place all of the Joes in the trees and like snipers, we'd shoot all of them. We had the crossman pump masters, which back then were very accurate air rifles if you used pellets. They had steel rifled barrels, and were scope mountable. It was great growing up.. and I always remember kids who had strict parents. We felt so sorry for them, they were P.O.W.'s to us. I remember one day in middle school when we were all out playing football in the field and there were these two kids, our age, that came out behind a fence. They were home schooled and not allowed to play outside, but their parents had to go out for a bit.... we were all awe-struck, asking so many questions, and just couldn't believe what they haven't seen or done.. it was crazy. Some people aren't fit to be parent's. We all developed our intelligence and street smarts by interaction, and at the cost of life really... since we came across older homeless people, people who would drive by in vans or those big boat like cars, asking if we wanted a ride... Never, I remember saying to one of my little friends, "you never get something for nothing.." haa haa... reminiscing. Anyone else have a similar upbringing? We had BMX bikes at the time and would ride all over the place... We also got little headlights for the bikes which had giant red battery packs with like six D batteries in them.. those massive things you don't see anymore, to power a relatively dim filament-style light bulb... I could go on for pages...
