Sir, I don't know if you remember me. We were in Iraq together. I was EOD with Fox-Trot. I was injured in our Helicopter Crash/accident. Had 7 back surgeries. Told I was never going to walk again, but I am finally working out again and have been walking for a long time now. I am hoping to be able to run again soon. I am glad you are doing well. I am going to take your advice in one of your other videos. I am going to start waking up early again and start working on my discipline again. Crazy how being in bed for so long can take some of that away. I started the surgeries in 06 and the last one was in Sept 08. It was still very difficult after that. So much pain to do anything. I was very impatient. Very angry and bitter at the VA and military for throwing me out when I was Number 1 at MU3 for many years. And as soon as I was hurt they took away my pay and pushed me out. I had to learn to get over all of that and move forward. It is good to move forward. I am working again. I am engaged. I have many acres on a big river in SC. I am MOVING Forward... Like I said, it is good to see you doing well. I am sure you have helped many people that you will never hear from. Thanks for what you are doing. Steve O

I seriously do not get the hate on the ad reads. Other than lightening up the mood after a serious book review or interview IMO Jocko and Echo's ad reads are some of the most creative and funniest ad reads out there right now
@0num4
@0num4 7 жыл бұрын
I don't understand the hate either. These guys take numerous hours every week to do this podcast, at no cost to us. They're just trying to cover costs and maybe make a little scrap to improve their lot (and thereby, our lot) in the long run. Gotta pay the bills, right? If that means I get to hear 10-20 minutes of chewing the fat while pushing ads and products/services, so be it. It's still worthwhile conversation most of the time.

My Grandpa, Maj. Dodge, was in the Korean war as a pilot, mostly medivacing soldiers back. I should ask him if we had any other relatives there, like a SGT Dodge in the USMC, because it is not a very common last name. When I was at FOB Sharana in Afghanistan, 07-08, I was in the 864th Engineers and we were attached to the 82nd, being relieved by the 101st, and I remember being in the chow hall, looking up, and seeing a SGT Dodge, I was just an E2 Pvt at the time, and we had a good conversation but we were not related to the best of our knowledge. It is great to hear other Dodges in history fighting the good fight. Love the podcast Jocko and keep it up frogman.

I'm way late to this party, but this podcast opened my eyes to the things my great uncle did/saw in Korea. He single-handedly swam across a river there under enemy fire to secure something, and swam back just the same. He never spoke about these things though, and would surely never consider his actions worthy of recognition.

And still the fact the guys like author of this book portrays that things like having a SGT who carries out missions on his own etc are worth monetizing from this and naming it coldest war makes it hilarious, maybe yall get some other economically crippled 3rd world country liberated cuz nothing is working for em rn

Just to clarify the gook term. In the korean language migook (migook salam: lam pronounced “rom”) means American or American person, Hangook (hangook salam) means Korean or Korean person. We have very good tires sold here in the states called hankook tires. Yes they are korean and for marketing purposes they changed the “g” with a “k”. Gook is only a racial term because of the contextual history the word has, but technically its just an everyday word used thats not racist. Thank all your grandfathers that fought side by side with our grandfathers aggressively tough in hellish conditions for yards not miles at times just for the greater good of global humanity and to eradicate the growing ideology of communism at that time). They did not die in vain and look at our alley friendship/ countries now, stronger than ever and the world is much safer. #320,000ROKsoldiersenttonam4backup 🇺🇸🇰🇷💪🤝❤️✝️

Why does Jocko have this guy, "Echo Charles" as a co-host? Apparently he has no military background, whatsoever. "Fighting for your country is the greatest thing"? Really? Vietnam and Iraq and Afghanistan were fought for the U.S. Gov't, representing a narrow group of elitists, trans-national corporations, the military-industrial complex, CFR, etc., but not the country. The people of the U.S. have no interest in foreign wars. This newer generation of "Warrior" types need to understand the difference between "country" and "government." If anything, it creates a real precedent for fascism in this country. - CPT (0-3-E), U.S. Army, MI, RET

You don't like Echo? You have no soul. The public are stupid and distracted but unfortunately you need their support so its easier to sell a story than the truth. The truth being there is a very dangerous philosophy floating around the world and it needs to be kept in check... also oil and stuff and keeping a ready military sure but its keeping those Marxist ideals at bay that REALLY matters.
