I was diagnosed with prostrate cancer in September this year, and my mental health deteriorated with the diagnosis BUT listening to this podcast and 465 has put me back in a good place. I can’t explain why and I just would like to say sincerely thank you.💪

I’ve started playing Jocko on my morning drives with my newly born construction company, I’m 28, I have one employee and two temporary laborers, Ive been in bands and other crews with these guys and they are aged 24-46-63… this has been how they’ve bonded and it opens up the self criticism and automation of behaviors, creates discourse and accountability in an environment that doesn’t permit any of those things to be negative, can’t afford Jocko’s events yet but one day

I have to say, after watching so many veteran videos on so many KZbin channels, I think that James Lechner is one of the most badass individuals I have ever heard speak. I've watched many war veteran videos where, justifiably, they tear up or straight up cry for what they did or what they saw. Not to demean them but the stoicism, casualness and analytical nature of this man about what he did is absolutely epic. He is clear, concise and doesn't saturate the information he gives with emotions. This is what a natural specialist looks like. This is it. This is not to say that he has no regrets - obviously he does, but this is why I insist that people should not apply for spec ops, they should be picked. It has to be natural. In my view, in terms of spec ops people, no guest of Jocko has ever been more impressive than this man. I could have used a role model like him through my career in order not to feel like I was a psychopathic human just because I had a different perspective. SPQR

Jocko, thank you for telling these stories. It’s allowed me to understand the people who have fought on behalf of the US. Sometimes I find myself in tears in Gratitude….. peace ……The Jammer

Jocko - please consider a role in politics, specifically president. Not just because you would make a great president. But because anyone who can say they went on bombing runs in an F-18 or went up in an AC-130 gunship all for "learning what they are capable of" with a straight face, needs to be a politician ;)

Great timing for this podcast! US military troops were deployed to Somalia by George Bush Sr on 4 December 1992. Operation Restore Hope was initiated a few days later. 🫡🫶
