Jeremy Stern is a nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Europe Center and news editor of Tablet magazine. He was previously a senior advisor in the Department of State and an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) officer in the US Army, deploying to five countries in the Middle East and Central Asia. His writing has appeared in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Foreign Affairs, Newsweek, Foreign Policy, and the American Interest, where he was a staff writer. He studied Russian language and literature at Kenyon College and Saint Petersburg State University in Russia.

Very disappointing to see such a one-sided perspective on this subject on a podcast titled "Don't Get Caught In The Crossfire in The Information War". Jeremy's points of view gloss over so many facts and historical accounts of what has happened and transpired in Israel/Palestine in the last 75 years. As a long time fan, I really expected more from this episode. History did not start on October 7th. Not much mention here of the 70% women and children killed in the attacks on Gaza or the credible accounts that over 100,000 Gazans have been killed. It's also sad to see Jocko talk about understanding the Israeli desire for vengeance while also not ever acknowledging how those responses might also be very real and understandable on the other side of the conflict.
