The Jocko Cast is one of the few on the net that you don’t see people fighting in the comments. So many positive and real people here.

Man, Jocko talking about running out of water took me straight back to late March of 2003. On the push to Baghdad we temporarily outran our logistical support. We advanced so quickly it made it hard for them to keep up plus some crazy sandstorms rolled in further compounding the issue. For about 36 hours we went on reduced rations and our water supply got down to an "OH SHIT!" level. Having a few less cases of MRE's to rat fuck didn't drive up the level of bitching but the very real threat of running out of water is a different story. We never ran completely dry but we got a hell of a lot closer than any Marine in the company was comfy with. Thankfully, higher ordered an operational pause so the log POG's could catch up and make resupplies happen. I can think of a few thousand other places I would rather run short or out of water other than the middle of a country covered by desert a few days into an invasion. Good times! Semper Gumby!

Can’t believe this podcast doesn’t have more female watchers. (At least, just based on the comments on this one, it doesn’t *seem* that there are many female watchers.) I’m a complete girly girl but I love listening to these podcasts while doing housework and work work; I get so much out of them and enjoy them so much! I always feel like I’m in the minority watching Peterson and Rogan, too. Lots of women are missing out on some great life advice, interesting conversations, and thought-provoking entertainment!

Daisy I think a lot of girls just don't know about it, I got my little cousin into it, she's 20 and loves jocko

I’m a tomboy haha. But I love listening Peterson and Jocko. I think they have great things to say about improving your own life and the lives of those around you, and there’s nothing gendered abut it. I think girls just don’t spend as much time on the internet where they can be discovering these great people.

I'm female, and I listen/watch all the people you've mentioned and more. (I think it's just that women _maybe_ don't comment as often...? 🤔)

Jockos advice on the chef is good. Yet, he doesn't know fine dining. Yes, you have to be a chef, not a cook. But some chefs are famous for their incorrigibility, like Ramsay, who you know, or Ramirez from Brookyln Fare, and many Asian chefs. In fine dining, some places are customer first, and some are food first. There is definitely something to be said for holding frame and putting the craft first. The difficulty of the experience can, in itself, be something that attracts customers. Like the soup nazi. If you go that route, though, you need to do it on your own terms, which means learning everything they have to teach you, and opening your own kitchen.
