K-ci is naturally attractive. I mean, you have the desire to be alone with him, but you know he's so asked, that you have no chance to have him for you alone. DeVante is also attractive, but in a different way. With DeVante you have the desire to be his girlfriend and talk about different things because he is more intellectual. Both are very intelligent and diplomat.

Devante started getting weird when he started doing business with Suge Knight around 94-95 he permed his fade then plated it i guess Suge Knight had a influence on Devante he started to kind of treat his artist wrong that"s why Missy and the Swing Mob crew left i guess it was him being young and trying to be hard but what did he have to prove he did r&b and grew up in a church but i hear he still develops artists and produces he still looks the same age done kicked it

I think they're talking about the group Silk. Cuz the lead singer was really short and had a very soulful voice like K-Ci. Then they had the tall cute member with curly hair. Plus they came out with their debut hit single "Freak Me" in 1993(fits time period of this interview) which was a very sexually charged song that Jodeci could have pulled off.Think about it...

Definitely talking about Shai. The tall one is Garfield Bright. The short one with a beard is Marc Gay. Plus, Darnell Van Rensalier is the tenor similar to JoJo's who leads most of Shai's songs. I never saw the comparison, but if they say Shai were biting, they were biting. Shai was bad, but they were no Jodeci. Period.

I’m not really knowing who they are talking about who they think trying to copy them… but I’ve thought for a long time that lead singer of Dru Hill has sort of a KC vibe about his singing style. Is it just me to notice that?? And which came first….Jodeci or Dru Hill? I think Jodeci, but not sure. I do like both groups regardless. Love Silk and Shai too.🤔 But Shai, nor Silk music sound anything like Jodeci. I don’t get the comparison to Shai.🙄

Based upon the feedback in the comments, probably Shai. Timeframe fits as Shai came out in '92 and this interview came out in 93. Also, notice that when Devante was talking, Jo Jo song "I will comfort", which is a line from their song "Comforter". This interview is just hilarious all around. If only we can get a version of this with cleaned up video and audio 🙏🏾.
