I never thought i'd like any of her future albums more than her debut, but they both brought out the best in each other. ' Loose ' was pure magic. I hope they one day reconcile their differences because their music positively impacted so many in numerous ways . As for Jtusin and Tim, they both are the definition of pure musicianship.

@talon3684
@talon3684 Жыл бұрын
@@ge8198 This is a massive L take. You respectfully couldn't be more wrong. I grew up on all of that as a teenager and was deep in that pop music movement, MTV's TRL and everything revolving around it as a big *NSYNC & Britney fan. *NSYNC quickly became superstars and Justin was the most popular of the guys. His solo album was highly anticipated after the group's 3rd album Celebrity and announcing that they were taking a break. Justin around that time of making his first album had just broke up with Britney and when Justified was released, Cry Me A River was an absolute smash. Justin had even brought the song to Britney before the album worldwide release to listen to it and ask if it was okay to put it out there. That is a tidbit that is not often repeated 20+ years later. But by no means did he need to manufacture anything to be relevant. The guy proved to be massively talented and charismatic. That take is completely made up and spoken out of pure nonsense. Justin was the IT guy for a pop generation of music that was absolutely massive in the late 90s. *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys and Britney dominated the pop charts. Media couldn't get enough of them.

Pop music has had it's creativity snuffed out by profit motive and labels that refuse to take risks. Good music is still being made but it's in the indie or small label space. That sound people say timbaland started actually came from Devante Swing of jodeci. That’s why songs like End of time with Beyoncé sound like jodeci songs. Not saying timbaland copied and paste but he took alot of elements from Devante swing who taught him how to use a sound board and make sounds. Devante swing discovered missy elliot, ginuwine, timbaland, static major, magoo, tweet and a lot of other producers and artists. They were all signed to his swing mob label and went by “da bassment cru”. He discovered them through auditions and associations and they all stayed in an apartment building he bought in Rochester, NY. He wanted them there so they could focus on the music and not be distracted by the city. They all had their own room with studio equipment 24/7. He taught some of them how to play instruments, he taught Tim how to use a soundboard, helped kissy’s singing group and she honed her writing skills there. They were there for a few years and some left because he wasn’t treating them write. He actually sent missy and her group home because there was so much drama with another girl group he has called sugah. Missy actually got along with them, her group members didn’t. Devante discovered sugah and they all made a demo for da bassment cru. Aaliyah heard one of the songs from sugah and that’s what made her choose timbaland and missy to work on her sophomore album one and a million. If you listen a lot of songs timb produce sound like jodeci songs. I wish they would give credit we’re it’s due. VA did not come up with that sound. Even teddy Riley (from VA) sound that Devante’s sound changed and brought in a whole new era of hip hop and rnb, and proof is in the pudding. Though they left Devante each artists was able to be successful, not because of hype or clout or any of that, but because their music was just that good. It pretty much defined the 2000s and oughts. Shame Devante swing wasn’t there for it but he was the one who created the sound.

Big facts!! I was literally justt thinking the same thing. Cool to actually hear JT shout-out The Bachelor. Cause there's definitely a number of tracks him and Timbo did, especially off of FutureSex, that had those Ginuwine vibes...even literally some of the same sounds haha. They kept those vibes going fosho. Miss both those eras fr 🔥🙌🏼🔥

One of my favorite things about Timbaland's music is how timeless it is. Most music sounds very much like the era it came from and you could place when it was made within a couple of years, just from hearing it. But Timbaland's music always just sounds like Timbaland. I can always identify when a song has been produced by Timbaland when I hear it because his signature is so strong, but there's no date on it. He's so innovative, yet consistent at the same time. No other producer stands out to me the way he does.

Justin’s reputation has definitely taken a beating in the last 10 years, but you can’t deny the weight of his legacy, this is one of pop rnb’s most iconic duos, Justified and FS/LS defined a genre. It’s hard to describe but you just had to be there, speaks for itself. And from a millennial standpoint, they are near and dear to my heart, I grew up with their music, foundational in my pop literacy. Times are tough right now but this video with two childhood heroes brought such a smile to my face 🥲

I don't think for 10 years but I think something has changed in the last 5/6 years, maybe since 2016. Until 10 years ago Justin Timberlake was a huge global celebrity and popstar, I mean The 20/20 Experience was a great Era critically and publicly acclaimed success. But I agree JT was great in the 2000s and beyond, sometimes I see that the younger generation doesn't know the impact JT has had on music.

For anyone that knows popular music, what Justin says at 5:00 is 100% true. Sexy back and My Love brought EDM to the forefront of popular music and COMPLETELY changed the sound. I remember Sexy Back getting mixed reviews because it sounded soooo differently then what was popular at the time. Flash forward a year and everything had the EDM punch. As Justin said, it lasted for over a decade.
