Lip fillers HURT! I’ve had that done once, and that was enough. While I was getting that done she told me about threading, which can give a bit of a lift to areas like forehead, cheeks, etc - for a couple of years - but as I’ve never seen anyone with that done, also paused there. Thanks for this, Jodi. I’ve one eye lid that droops, which makes a wing difficult due to the folds. Doesn’t stop me from doing them now and then. My husband and I have never really gone for Valentines Day… we know we love each other and we feel our wedding anniversary is the date to celebrate and show off our love!
@JodiMannes Жыл бұрын
Hi Marjorie, funny you mentioned threading. I heard about a few years ago and like you, don't (think) I know anyone who has done it. The results look impressive. Well said on your celebration of your wedding anniversary. I love that!

I'm going to give this a shot, it looks lovely on you, lifting, but natural, to which I aspire. However, since I'm not that old yet but still have very hooded eyes, it will be a challenge. And I'm totally with you regarding Valentine's Day. No matter what men do, they're always secondary during this holiday.

Good luck, Elise. By using a similar technique with the eyeshadows, you may want/need to use a thinner eyeliner line and bring it out a little farther past your lashes. Give that a try, I'd love to know how it turns out! I bet it's beautiful on you!

Hello Julie, thank you. I had my hair done the same day and my stylist added the curls (I never seem to get it to look the way she does lol). I thought of you when I bought this sweater and in my notes for the video I wrote ' remember to talk about sweater for Julie' :)

@@JodiMannes I totally can relate, I too can never get my hair to look like how my stylist does it. You are so kindhearted! Thanks for keeping me company on those days when I can't venture out, due to ankle surgery. Home stretch!! Then the other ankle in August. You truly are an inspiration. Do you have any suggestions for me. I can't seem to keep my foundation on my nose. I've tried both with and without primer. Also, different brands. No luck, any tips you might have would be greatly appreciated! Have a wonderful day!

@@juliewhiting3017 So happy to hear you're in the home stretch, almost there! I struggled with the same challenge of foundation not staying on my nose. I have normal/dry skin everywhere except my nose where it's oily. I started using a light dusting of translucent powder on the end where I loose foundation and it's made a world of difference. I just use the same powder that I use under my eyes, the Laura Mercier Translucent powder. Give that try!

First time watching and really enjoyed it. I'm going to try your tips in the morning,,,and I really needed some help so thank you. About laser treatment...yes, the results are amazing. But....mine was to be done in 3 stages,,, surface skin, then mid dermal, then deep layer, 2 weeks apart for each. First one..no problem,,just avoid sun for a day. Mid derm...the numbing cream keeps it from hurting as it's done but the pain about 20 or so minutes later...wow! It literally felt like someone had a torch on my face for almost 2 hours. Even the slight breeze was painful on the skin as I left the car to the house. I forfeited the 3rd treatment, telling the plastic surgeon I couldn't/wouldn't do it without some sedation which he wouldn't do. I have a pretty high pain tolerance, but it was too much for me to do all 3.

Hello and thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts! I hope you love the look in the morning, I bet it will be beautiful! Thank you for sharing your experience with the laser treatment. Do you mind me asking what type of treatment it was? Ultherapy? Fraxel or something else?

@@JodiMannes I'm really not sure but it resulted in resurfacing that was amazing. Maybe CO2? When I went to see previous co-workers (who didn't know) they just kept telling me how great I looked after changing jobs, lol. I would do level 1 again for sure, but in older skin the deep resurfacing is 3 stages. It does cause burning and mild peeling. Just my opinion, but you look too young and pretty to do a deep resurface just yet. If/when you do, ask a lot of questions. Mine was very painful at stage 2. But I survived and was very very pleased with results.

Hey Jodi! Love that sweater and it’s a perfect color on you. You might want to look up VICCI Makeup glasses. Utube wouldn’t let me share the link. Sharalee from Sharalee’s box of Chocolates demonstrated them and they look amazing. You wear them while doing your eye makeup. The lens is on one side then you flip it over to do the other eye. If the discount code is still good it’s SHARALEE15 but they’re not expensive. Someone on here might need want them for close-up viewing. I’ll probably need them before long. I cannot do a winged line. My eyelid sags right on the outer corner now and it just won’t work. I do appreciate the in-depth tutorial though. You look beautiful! Ditto on the Valentine’s Day thing😂 See ya next time! ❣️

Hi Lisa! I'll reach back out to VICCI and try the glasses. They contacted me last year and it wasn't something I was interested in at the time however, my eyes seem to say different lol. I get some great ideas from you, thank you for that! Wishing you a wonderful week.

All of these extra steps are just extra steps, and it dissuades people from wanting to bother with make up at all, so sometimes, less is less, and I simply go over my lids and under my eyes with foundation, pressed powder, and all over my face with pressed powder, and my blush is my eyeshadow and it is my blush, and I curl my lashes after I apply my liquid eyeliner, and I don’t go through all these extravagant ministrations to put on make up; just put it on, it really is that simple. No disrespect, but when I see all of these videos with go in and fix this after you do this or that but then let’s add another 10 steps it’s ridiculous, and it didn’t make really any difference at all. Just focus on everything you do with absolute precision, and after applying every day, you should be an expert like a make up artist. After all these years, I can still put on liquid eyeliner, with the precision of an artist. L’Oreal cosmetics are outstanding, and after buying expensive cosmetics, I’m glad I found L’Oreal because they are just as good, if not better, and they are made by an expensive cosmetic line, anyway, but everyone must find what works for them, but thanks for the video. Trying to do an effortless look should not take so much effort. I guess people need content for their videos, but this would make me never use make up, again.
@JodiMannes Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment, Leigh. It sounds like you have a routine that works well for you, that's terrific! Not everyone has found that routine and some like more of a glam look, some want less. I like to provide a variety of options so people can find something that works for them. I'm sorry this video's content wasn't your style, and hope you'll find other content I've created helpful.
