Joe is still stranded on Jets Fantasy Island. What makes it more humiliating is the week before the Bears with significantly less talent than the Jets beat up the Patriots at Foxboro. Drafting Wilson before Fields was the Jets 1st major mistake. Designed run plays for Wilson? Hahaha. He is too small and fragile. He does not like to be hit. Hit him a few times and he is rattled for the remainder of the game. Watch is happy feet when he drops back to pass, it tells all.

Joe B. is the man. He opened up with all the mistakes of this team and not singled out the QB as the problem like the rest of the free world. The Jets won 4 straight games with Zach under center. The last three he made no mistakes and they won and people still criticized him for not airing out the ball 30+ times when they didn't need to. Now he gets his FIRST LOSS of the season and we call for his head? This year is suppose to be the year we find out who and what Zach Wilson is, how about we give him a chance to learn from his mistakes and get better for it. He has the arm and the skills. His first pick he waited a second too long and saw Judon and tossed it off his back foot, His second he waited a second or two too long and tried to get it out of bounds too late. Right decisions just made mistakes of waiting too long trying to make something happen. His third he tried to force on third doan to make something happen. All of these are mistakes that can be overcome in my view. I would still take Zach over Mac Jones who should have had 3 picks himself yesterday. Joe B said all the mistakes here perfectly in the open. It's not just Zach Wilson and he will take the brunt of it because it's easy to look at numbers and point a finger. This team had flaws across the board yesterday in all phases. If you want perfection it doesn't exist period let alone in the NFL, and while a loss like this hurts and tastes like crap, let's see how this TEAM grows from it. Go Jets!!
@davidbraman32682 жыл бұрын
Joe B. was SPOT ON in his assessments (down to the black uniforms!!) and at the same time Chuck - you too are spot on!! I would - however have pulled Zach second half because Bellicheat obviously had the lay of the land with the Jets - throw in Mike White, mix it up and give him different looks and re-take the Pats out of the game. Based on the way they have been playing, Joe's right. That stupid roughing penalty doesn't happen, Jets win, pretty much in the same fashion they won the last four games. It's a young team that needs work and development, but agree 100% with Joe. If Zach isn't getting it done, throw Mike White into the game! Let them work in tandem if necessary. There does need to be some better coaching - problem is Saleh and LaFleur are tied at the hip. Would Robert send LaFleur packing under any conditions?? That may end up being what could cost Saleh his job. And then the re-build continues on - forever.....

If Wilson would just run forward instead of sideways and backwards he is a different QB. He plays skittish and scared to get hit....he needs to learn how to stay in the pocket and go to his 2nd and 3rd reads .and then run "forward". Take a sack if necessary...or just throw it out of bounds...I am not saying he can't learn or get better...but as of right now I don't see it from him...let's see what happens next week against Buffalo

The roughing the qb call was a very pivotal moment in this game. This wasn’t the only reason the Jets lost, but it was one of two factors. The other being Zach’s interceptions. The Jets had the entire second half to win that game. They never did. But, let me ask you this, do you think the Jets and Zach would have gotten that roughing the qb call?
@kenduffy53972 жыл бұрын
Nope, and you see other QB’s get hit a lot harder and closer to the head & don’t get the call! JFM “push” Jones’s back! Lol, I counted 1 1/2 steps! It was a push. Just so people know: There is not College football!There is no rules for launching yourself and our targeting in the NFL! Edited: That absolutely was not roughing Jones going for the first down! He didn’t give himself up and CJ Mosley did what your exactly supposed to do! Lead with your shoulder and prevent the 1st down! Also, Jones was playing to get the flag! He lied there as if he got hit by Mike Tyson! Why was he still in the game after that hit then??? Hmm 🤔

This is best comment i have seen here because it is 1000% true. The fact is, there is no chance on Earth Zach gets that same call Mac did to call back a TD against NE and i mean he could have been hit way worse and helmet to helmet and still not a chance a yellow flag comes out, and that is a HOME game for the Jets and not even against Brady either. The nFL is obsessed with pushing narratives on certain teams, i can no longer have any emotion for the sport. I mean when i saw MC2 Int that ball and start running where it was pretty clear he was gonna score, i wasn't yelling or cheering, i was awaiting the end of the play expecting there to be a BS block in the back, why because that's how the Jets are officiated, 90% of the time if we hit a positive play on Offense it is negated by a ticky tack call that 20 plus teams in the NFL don't get against them. In the past we got calls against us but we really did suck so nobody noticed, but this year there has been many times where we won and flags kept the other team in it, and/or kept us from blowing games out completely, the NFL cannot have the Jets embarrassing teams like the 40 pts we dumped on MIA.

@steves99642 жыл бұрын
@@jmclell20 I couldn't agree more with everything said on this thread, as well as most of Benigno's points. The bottom line is that even when the Jets show promise they seem to have to overcome not just the opponent but other outside forces. The Franklin-Meyers penalty was a good call by today's standards, but I don't know, can New England receivers ever be called for blocking downfield with the ball in the air? I can recall a number of instances including on the TD where that occurred, and of course it wasn't called. Outside of a couple of missed tackles in the hole by Jet defensive backs and some over-pursuit by the pass rush, New England simply couldn't move the ball without assistance. That's the essence of Belicheat at work. You can go back to the 80s for more of the same, of course also within the Jets' division. Shula was the head of the competition committee, which basically meant that the refs reported to him. Somehow, and not by coincidence, the Jets were always heavily penalized. Same thing for today and in between with the ONLY exception being the short time Parcells was here. Any positive play for the Jets MUST be accompanied by held breath and a laser focus on the panel of the screen which flips to yellow any time a flag is thrown. Any real Jet fan knows this to be true, and any premature celebration can only bring about more angst. I do take umbrage with Joe's point about the fan base. I don't think it has anything to do with there being more than one team in New York, because unlike the other sports football has always been a nationally consumed game. I grew up with Jet and Giant fans, but also plenty of fans of Miami, Pittsburgh, the Raiders, Dallas, Washington, Chicago and San Francisco. That's not the issue. The issue - for the Jets at least - is that they are not playing their "home" games in an area representative of the fan base. A stadium in Queens or Nassau County that's more intimate would completely change things, but this ownership is asleep at the wheel and only interested in such a thing when it is gifted quasi-government land on the west side of Manhattan for pennies on the dollar. I believe one team can break the current lease at MetLife after fifteen years (24-25?), and since the Giants seem married to North NJ, perhaps the Jets can make a concerted effort to come to an arrangement with the Giants wherein they can finally stake their own claim. But since we're not talking about a Jet TD, or interception, or blocked punt, or huge 3rd down conversion I won't hold my breath.
@ryanh39512 жыл бұрын
I agree with the penalty calls. I’m a giants fan and same shit happens with us, the “good” teams never get the calls when you’re playing them. They can hold all day or do things the giants and jets would get called for all day.

Mac gets a Pick 6 against him negated on call that wouldn't have happened in Pee-wee football, and he also gets 1st down when he dives head first becoming a runner at the point and Mosely not leading with his helmet cleanly stops him and a flag comes out. Then go back to last year when Zach misses 4-5 games because 10 yds out of bounds Judon smashes into the back of his knees. I mean a 5 yr old can see thats not an even playing field, another unrelated tidbit, mccourtys Int against Zach is so clearly out of bound atleast with one full leg in the white, but they call a Int on the field so they can fake review it, brush it aside and say no evidence to overturn, rewind back a week Mosley has a pick at the end of the Denver game and they review it for like 15 min trying to find something and then overturn the call when it was clear as day a pick. remember when Blow Beningo thought said he had no problem with the Jets drafting Quinnen Williams 3rd overall he was behind the pick all the way till the end of the season until Williams ended up with only 2.5 sacks in 13 games. The Joe Blow started in on what a terrible pick Williams was because the Jets passed on Josh Allen DE/LB from Kentucky who went 7th to the Jags and finished with 10 sacks. Joe Blow started in on they should have taken Allen because they hadn't had a pass rusher since Abraham blah,blah. In Allen's second year he played 8 games and had 13 combined tackles and 2.5 sacks. Quinnen started improving and Joe Blow forgot he said the jets blew it by taking Williams over Allen. Fast forward to this year and Joe Blow loves Williams and credits Maccagnan for getting the Williams pick right. He's one of those embarrassing fans that can't see anything further then which way the wind is blowing

Joe is 100% spot on. Also, with regard to playing certain Jets...while Joe Douglas is lauded for his draft - where he had 4 picks in the top 36 - what about: Becton, Mims, entire 2020 draft, and now Zach and Moore? How many extremely high draft picks can jets continue to waste? I have no idea what has happened with Elijah Moore from end of last season to start of this season but if he is turning into a cancer TRADE HIM! If he is salvageable GET HIM THE BALL! Mims? I don't want to give Mims away. START HIM! What winning teams sit on their hands and give their players the silent treatment destroying their own assets' trade value? They are biting their nose to spite their face. If Joe Douglas is executive of the year for drafting Sauce and Breece than he should be fired immediately for his garbage drafting before this past draft.

Go back to the 1st Patriots TD of the 3rd quarter. Jets up 10-9, it’s a blatant pass interference on the Patriots, & no call. The WR at the top blocks the CB as soon as the ball is snapped on a pass play, ref is right there & he turns a blind eye. Patriots definitely gets favorable zebras.

I am so freaking tired of the BS roughing the passer calls, no matter which side its on. The speed of the game makes it almost impossible for a player to stop their momentum right after a QB throws the ball. Throw in the fact that with a giant OL trying to block you that gets in the way of being able to see what the QB is even doing sometimes. And then when a QB slides right before you are about to hit them, and you get a penalty, the whole sport has become a joke. I'd rather they just do flag football at this point its so ridiculous. And I dont care what team it happens for or against, it has killed the game.

@a.m.d.66792 жыл бұрын
Joe B is right about the refs. He didn't even mention the play where Garrett Wilson's knee hit the ground after being taken down after a catch but he popped back up quickly, and then a Pats defender tackled him.
@jmclell202 жыл бұрын
Worse than a late tackle, he lifted him up by his upper leg and slammed the dude down, i wouldn't be surprised if he was coached to do that since Wilson was killing their DBs and Belicheat told the guys we wont get a FLAG. I am surprised Kraft was at the game and not in a Four Seasons in NYC getting a happy ending from a 14 yr old sex slave.

The nfl is a star driven league. Bellicheck is a star, albeit a coach. NFL doesn’t want their starts not in the biggest stages. The NFL needs New England for ratings.
@stephenhanft12262 жыл бұрын
While that penalty completely changed the game and deserves to be emphasized, the most important issue coming out of this loss is the poor play of Zach Wilson. I think the Jets have good young talent and can make the playoffs but that won't happen if Zack Wilson continues to play poorly like he did yesterday.
