I'm 57 years old and have been playing guitar since I was 11. This is THE FINEST rendition of this song ever presented! I saw him live in Tucson, but he didn't play it. I was waiting . . . .But even without hearing this live, in-person, it is clear that this man is a master-class professional. He is so smooth and effortless, I just can't get over it. He is a member of the True Master Class in my book for a number of reasons. Many of which are on display throughout this performance. Thank you Joe, and keep it up!

I am so tired of people praising classics so fucking highly. Here Joe is working his ass off and always has. He impressed the King of Blues from a young age and he's enjoying himself here in his youth but people will bitch that he's "too busy being a poser rock god" or "karaoke" first of all that's just stupid and second well what the hell is he supposed to do? He's a great player. He does the blues and blues rock well. He worked to the top and he's on top now in the blues world. Jimi was great and I will always feel amazing putting on my Hendrix albums and just listening but just because someone didnt play in the 60's-70's doesn't mean they're shit. Respect the fact there are younger people still out to respect and keep the genres you hold so high. Joe is great.

When real rock came along (I was a teen when Buddy Holly died!) I had to search and often endure a lot of so-so songs to find a good guitar solo by someone gifted. Now all I have to do is come here to KZbin and listen to anything Bonamassa. I am glad I lived long enough!

When JIMI put this all together in 67'-He knew how the backwords solo would sound played straight which blows my mind just to start off with. Bonamassa Really gets it Nobody can outdue Hendrix on this one but damn if anybody enters that rare air it's happening right here. That the stuff of Legend...

Has got to be one of the all-time small venue displays of guitar prowess of all time- would love to have been there in his early days when he was just thrashing. I could watch this a million times- truly a masterpiece. One for the ages. I put this up there with any of the Gods of guitar- and the girls are a plus!!!!

I was at this concert. It was at Piere's Entertainment Center in Fort Wayne, IN about 2002. I had seen Joe more than once at this venue but this was the only time he had the dancing girls. As many have said on this page he didn't need them. I was a fan from the first time I heard him. He comes back to Fort Wayne in November at the Embassy Theater...I've got my ticket!

Initially I thought the same way as you. He certainly does not need dancing girls on his stage, his talent speaks to itself. But I thought back in the Hendrix experience, this is what you got, only with a lot more tie dye. He was channeling the Hendrix experience.

This is a real old video from 2002.The stupid Go-Go Dancers were actually an idea of the guy who onwed the venue, which was a pretty sleazy club, where this was recorded. You can actually see most of the people in the crowd are getting drunk. Joe himself said in an interview that he's pretty emberrassed, when he's watching this live video, back then he was a newcomer and was playing any venue he could,no matter how sleazy it was.Thank God this has change nowadays. :-)

This is before Joe hit it big. When you reach success, you no longer need dancing girls. To me, artists always sound better before they get rich because they're really working for it. It's hard to write songs about life on the streets from an Hollywood penthouse.

True dat. While EJ ´88 clearly channels the spirit of the Hendrix´ song, which in it self "channels god" Bonamassa is just preoccupied as posing rock god. The spirit is lost. No wonder the women were just grinding their asses on the stage, lol.

markyncole It was a sort of spontaneous puzzlement rooted in a general appreciation for both Bonamassa and Lesbian sideshows, which did however reflect the point of view that there seems to be a bit of a performative glitch between what he is doing - the stage persona he tends to employ, and what they are doing, making one wonder if it's a deliberate part of the show or a spontaneous exhibitionistic inspiration on the part of the audience. We've all seen weirder parties than that I hope, so I don't think a congressman is called for at this point, unless you'd like to call one about my comment ...
