The great Reese Wynans stole the show in this one! I got tickled when I noticed he was sitting in an office chair on casters, swiveling back and forth between the piano and organ! 😁 I love that Joe lets his band shine, he has some fantastic musicians. Anton Fig on drums, Michael Rhodes on bass… and the backup singers are wonderful too!

Bonamassa's great, and a great version of the song. I always associate this song with Jeff Beck. Beck's studio version (probably live in the studio) came out in 71 or 72, the album with the oranges on the cover, and it literally used to make me laugh out loud that anyone could be that audacious on an electric guitar. Maybe that won't translate to 2022, but you should give it a listen some time, keep in mind it was 1971.

The Jeff Beck studio version, especially in the context of 1970 or 1971, is the definitive version. This Bonamassa version is nice but we heard it all before. When Beck's version came out we were hearing a lot of this for the first time. The ignorance of the hosts is grating.

Joe is a very talented musician and his base is the blues but he has stepped it up and gone into some very dynamic crossovers. Someone mentioned Mountain Time live from The Royal Albert Hall, but you can find it in an acoustic version live in Vienna. Check out his recent songs as well as his early stuff and when he crossed into a ventures with Black Country Communion some real dynamics with that group you can see his influence. Two songs that come to mind : "Song of Yesterday" and "The Battle For Hadrian's Wall -l live". Some of his other interesting work include off his Royal Tea album "When One Door Opens."

Sorry for the long post, but warranted. The talent pool here cannot possibly get any better: The drummer is Anton Fig (David Letterman's band), Keys is Reese Wynans (Stevie Ray Vaughn), the bassist is Michael Rhodes (J Cash, W Nelson, EL Harris, S Nicks, E John +many others), the trio of background singers are world renowned, Mahalia Barnes, Jade MacRae, and Juanita Tippins, the sax is Paulie Cerra (S Wonder, RL Jones, L Ritchie, +many others), the trumpet is Lee Thornburg (Tower of Power), The hole is deep (15 studio albums and counting) A few must listens: Trouble Town, Blue & Evil, You Upset Me, You Left Me Nothing But the Blues, What I've known for a Very Long Time, I Gave up Everything, Redemption + many, many others. Yes, he is still touring. Go see him b4 he gets old. I saw him last year in Virginia Beach and he did not disappoint. Fantastic reaction, TY. BTW, that other guitarist is Curt Fletcher. Joe grew up listening to the great blues artists. He is a blues guitarist (and one of the best of a generation which included Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jeff Healey and others). He's great -- even though there evidently aren't that many blues fans today.

He's considered Blues, and he slides into rock with ease but stays anchored in Blues. He's been around a long time; opened for BB King when he was 12-13 yrs old. One of his back up singers is Mahalia Barnes, the daughter of rock singer Jimmy Barnes. She's incredible and has her own band as well but always comes back to sing with Joe.

One question...and it is for the concert audience. How do you keep your seat in this musical onslaught of pure soulful and bluesy goodness?

If you get goose bumps they're doing it right!!! I'm a huge SRV fan and seeing Joe play with his band makes me think of him. He can play for sure and the man on piano is Reese who played in SRV's band Double Trouble. I love seeing all the instruments, dancing ladies in the back, black, white, whatever. Everyone making beautiful music together. ❤

Released nearly 5 years ago, Mindi Abair's "Pretty Good For A Girl" featuring Joe Bonamassa will NOT disappoint! Mindi hasn't gotten the exposure she deserves. Seriously worth a reaction. Anything Joe B. releases is GOLD! Pick any video!

Reese Wynans, the keyboard player, played with Stevie Ray Vaughan in Double Trouble. You MUST listen to the original by Freddie King, the Texas Cannonball!!!

Joe plays Blues based Rock... with a lot of Soul. The keyboard player is Reese Wynans. He played in Stevie Ray Vaughan's band for many years. This song was made famous by Freddie King aka "The Texas Cannonball"

Reese is the most underrated musician and most sought after pianist there is to this day. For The Love of God!! P.S. This is REAL MUSIC!!! The individuals, and I will not mention them because it would take too much time who call themselves musicians should all be ashamed, embarrassed, and should never, ever, ever, ever call themselves by that name!!!!! This is what it's all about. By the way this is a Freddie King original!!!!! He is a legend that never got the true recognition that he deserved!!!
