The reason I am watching this video is because I love Walter Trout. I don't feel the need to put them in competition with each other. They are all great. Chill out people. Oh. I was lucky enough to meet Walter at a gig on Merseyside about 8 years ago, apart from being a superb guitarist, he's a REALLY humble man ! We chatted for a few minutes about the tour, and I had bought a triple cd and a t-shirt at the gig, asked him if he would sign the t-shirt, no problem, I wear it with Pride !

to the dude who asked "Who won?" thats not AT ALL what the blues is about, its about these two amazing artists getting up there and just playing, its not a competition its just these two guys jamming with each other and i think that, while they are a a bit different in style, they bring out the best in each other and simply put on an amazing showcase of modern blues :)

Seeing them both again in the next month. They are both truly wonderful performers, capable of both shred-fest and emotive blues-rock. Lang/Mayer/KWS eat your hearts out, you can never be as good as these guys.

I totally agree. Music isn't a competition. Musicians don't compete with others when they're sharing the stage. They enjoy to play with another musician...it's not at all competitive... I agree again: Walter's solo aren't at all the same. ballads (say goodbye to the blues), rock 'n' roll (good enough to eat) and blues (the love song of alfred j. bluesrock). I saw Walter, Joe Bonamassa and Johnny Winter in three weeks. But none of these concerts were as good as Eric Clapton's....

Musicians learn from one another and appreciate each other's struggle. White men playing the blues has never been about recreating the emotional of enduring slavery. No youngster (Oli Brown or Joe B or Walter Trout or EC) has endured any of that particular hopelessness which is the core of the music. In the 60's Fleetwood Mac (Chicago blues) and John Mayall (JB Lenior) relied on and championed the likes of Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon among others.

Well, I guess it takes all sorts to make a world! Whilst I would agree that Mayer and KWS don't really hit my spot, I must say I really dig Langs guitar playing! I love how he plays it *so* dirty - miss hits a lot of notes - if you know what I mean. He really plays on the edge of his ability... Really stretches out, and I can hear that and I think it comes through as honesty. He really means it :-) Anyway, this video of WT and JB is great! Thanks to the poster ;-)
