im a metalhead. This is not my usual type of music. But my dad used to love this song and we always listened to it together. He died on leucemia 2 years ago. I really miss him and sometimes i listen to this song to remember him. Thank you, Joe.

Brother you don’t mourn alone. My mom passed December 2019 and I continue to grieve. Perhaps listening to “The Blues” doesn’t help. Joe is an awesome talent. His music is therapy for me. Most time when I listen I cry, but I’m not sad. In fact I’m grateful for my life’s experiences and those that have influenced me. Joe B is good medicine.

Hey Leonfox. Lost both my parents as well. Not that it matters. I am glad you have found some other music in your your journey. I am a metal-head as well , but found the blues in the 90`s when grunge came around. It`s healthy to explore other genres. I truly hope that your loss is weakining when years pass by. A good old fashioned hug comes your way from Norway. Stay positive brother :)

Was with my brother in Durham 2 years ago in February. This is my brother's favorite Bonamassa song. I was so glad he played this. I'm a dancer. Taught dance my whole life. Almost 50 yrs. My brother who has not one ounce of rhythm in his whole body just started moving when Joe played this. It was so amazing. It made his whole night. My brother took me, my mom and my sister in law out for a beautiful dinner and this concert. Incredible memory. Sorry for the small novella. Lol

I didn’t discover Joe until 2016, 8 years after my beloved husband died from cancer. My biggest regret is that he never had the chance to experience Bonamassa . He would have loved it. He loved Clapton, Gary Moore and BB King. Now when I listen to Joe’s music it’s bittersweet. I wish I could have shared my love of Joe’s music with him. Life isn’t fair by any means.

Life is not fair. But that old adage is fatalistic. The fact is, life is short and no one gets out alive. It’s up to us to make the most of all the time we get. So make your choices wisely. Rejoice in the fact that you found the incredible musical talent that is Joe Bonomassa. Go see him in concert. Take a friend with you, perhaps someone who has never heard of Joe. It’s a show you’ll never forget. Your late husband would want you to live your life and if he loved the blues, he would definitely approve of Joe Bonomassa!!! 🎸☮️

When it comes to music or the arts, there’s never just one “greatest “, it’s too subjective. It’s all about what we like, what speaks to us, what we can relate to. I’m a HUGE fan of JB. I love that I can listen to his music over and over and not tire of it. We had the pleasure of seeing him live a few years ago, took our son (25 years old at the time). He comment after was ‘He didn’t play anything I didn’t like’. That’s a great compliment.

40 Albums and 21 of them hit #1. Hard to believe I didn't hear of this musician til 2 years ago. Finally got to see him in San Antonio, Texas. Just after visiting Bubba Gump Shrimp.

Indeed. I am ashamed I was not aware of him sooner. Thanks to a young UK guitarist who covered him (who you should check out) James Bell (who has sadly had health issues).

I agree with you 100%. What a tone ! What a talent. Told my sons that if I can't see Gary Moore in the States because he is no longer alive. The next best guy to see is JB. NO doubt .Good for you. How old is your son? I am going with my 2 sons in Baltimore area this Friday. and they are only 11 and 12. I am trying to influence them with rock and blues. they are all into hip and hop and other pop music nowadays.

Joe Bonamassa you’re the greatest just started listening to you four months ago. You brought me back from the dead. Had a bad month of medication and went to easy way and pointed a gun to my head and pulled the trigger on pistol I forgot to put furring pin bsck in. Where there on purpose or accident it save my life. It was just about the time you played in Omaha and I miss your concert. So I turned you and KZbin . I listen to his set of yours.. And decided it was a wrong way out. So thank you very much I will continue to listen to music the rest my life so play on. Knowing your music has made a difference

When I watch this video, I really don't miss the 70's. In the 70's during the guitar solo they would have shown the face of the drummer or some girl in the audience. As a guitar player, here I have all I need.

Saw Joe and band twice at the Palais Theatre St Kilda Melbourne Australia The Tone, timing and pure brilliance of Joe has to be experienced to be believed The audience hang on to every note and those solos are truely spiritual. In fifty years he is the best I have ever seen and that Gibson talks, sings moans and everything in between

Amazing is an understatement. One of the most talented and gifted slow jam and guitar solo vocalists I have ever heard. He can also rock. In person has to be a once in a lifetime experience. He's definitely up there with Page, Hendrix and the greatest musicians I admire and respect. Print that and take it to the bank.
