Considering the fact that each of these guitars is built personally by a respectable master-builder, I am actually surprised that they are releasing these guitars for less than 10000 dollars. Not saying that these are reasonable prices for any normal guitar player, but as far as I remember the master-built version of the Eric Johnson Virginia Strat was also priced more closely to 10000. I hope I do remember this somewhat correctly.

Video is interesting to me because I am working on a awesome patts caster, a micawber style tele. Ash, 8.6 bridge, paf neck, quarter sawn rosewood neck, modern compound radius. Not trying to be all vintage reissue with it. A nice mix of modern vintage. Feels good to have a few player's grade guitars that we can do whatever to. Got kicked out the telecaster club because everyone was like oh no that's not an all original fender. Fortunately, the modders club likes me. Lot of the old time musicians would mod em out big time before anyone realized they were going to be collectors items. Go buy five of em at the pawn shop, switch the necks around, keep the best one and give the rest to their friends. They didn't care about the historical value back then, they were just trying to make a guitar worth playing. Of course now it wouldn't be right to mess with an all original vintage tele. Just gets a little ridiculous when someone has a squier and they are all like oh no i can't mod my infinity made in Mexico strat. Like whatever dude. Have my parts casters i can go crazy on. Those are the ones that are the most playable and stage studio ready.

I had had a replica of Keef's "McCawber"", but I sold it rather quickly. I missed the distinct, wonderful character of the original Tele neck pickup which I think is one of the best pickups of all, on par with DeArmond Dynasonics and P-90s.. It is interesting how a humbucker on a Tele sounds so different from the same pickup on a Les Paul. or on an ES-335 Those being such different instruments is the reason, of course, but one might have thought that as aggressive a pickup as a humbucker would not change quite so much. Oh well....

8:28 Sorry Joe. But Seymour Duncan‘s support told me it‘s not out of phase. The middle position is parallel, so it‘s thinner sounding. The same thing is with Strats in 2nd and 4th position, it‘s all parallel.

@@FinstaDaMinsta I don't know the guy from technical support, but that doesn't matter. I contacted the support team by e-mail and asked specifically because I don't perceive the sound in the middle position as out of phase (out of phase is thinner and nasal in the sound). I thought I was simply mistaken, but my suspicions were confirmed. I also strongly suspect that the support guy asked the people who were actually involved in the development (in this case the boss himself and MJ, who winds the pickups there). And if they don't know, who does? I love Joe, but even he can slip up sometimes, right?

Late reply, but I more look at it as productions of specific guitars that Joe happens to own. The Nocaster and SG are great examples. Even Lazarus can be considered a unique guitar. I'd say it's more sharing the instrument than Joe just boasting. Just my opinion.
@reverb508
@reverb508 Жыл бұрын
@@landonbuckanaga6411 I'd buy that if he didn't have his name plastered on all the cases, headstock, or in extreme cases, fretboard. At least it's just embroidered in the case in this example. I don't know. I don't have a problem with him having a small handful of signature guitars; he's a great player. But it feels less special when he has a signature Tele, Les Paul, 335, Flying V, Firebird. He's really diluting the concept of a "signature guitar". I think he has Joe Walsh beat at this point lol
