Some years ago a friend and neighbour treated me and my missus to tickets to Joe Brown and his band . I hadn’t thought of going to this gig and didn’t know what to expect . I was utterly blown away , a wonderful musician with an insipiring personality and brilliant band who share an exquisite sense of harmony . An unforgettable night . All love and best regards to Mr Brown !!! 😎👏🎼✌️👍

Joe's act always involved audience interaction, he was always popular in the theatres but the big auditoriums were always in the distance. No doubt he made a great living and had a good life doing what he does, beats playing in bars and clubs. He'd have made a fortune on the Cruise Ships had he wanted.

If you were listening to music in the 60s, do try to go to a Joe Brown concert. His performances are absolutely spot on. The shows come over as fresh and enthusiastic. I don't know whether it's at Joe's insistence, but the sound quality and levels are comfortable, i.e. it's a strong sound that won't make your ears bleed. So much live music today is made to sound like an overblown railway station Tannoy, devoid of all musicality. Unless Joe has gone deaf in the meantime and cranked up the pain control, then you are assured of a rhythmical and musical experience. That'll be 2 free tickets please Joe.

If it weren't for Joe Brown meeting Eddie Cochran, there would have been no "Sound of Fury", no backstage jams with the Beatles (lessons to George Harrison) and no reason for other British working class kids to think they could be rock stars.

Sorry.. I just realised Eddie Cochran isn't really classed as "country music" but he played a lot of "American country music" on plenty of sessions and it was pretty much him who taught Joe Brown how to play American country music (and rockabilly)

@@alfsmith4936 Interesting how all the genre's of music that originated in the USA, in the 50's and 60's. B/C we were a "melting pot" of cultures and customs, and it magically all came together in the American South! Bands from other countries were influenced from USA and added their own ideas, they DID NOT invent it! All the credit goes to the music pioneers of America

What a great video and such a smashing bloke. He insisted on sitting with me at a Pink Floyd gig at the Rainbow in the 70s, coz I was the only other Londoner there and we were surrounded by some Scottish mates. I'd got a couple of seats near the sound mixer but Joe soon disappeared backstage where he got slightly sloshed in the bands dressing rooms ( very quickly) and returned with that beautiful smile he always has. Halfway through the brilliant (Dark Side of the Moon) show he said "my wife is singing up there", I asked which one is she "i can't see" was his reply. Not only did his wife Vicky have a great voice but their daughter Sam, who replaced her mum with PFloyd some years later, had a spectacular voice..... I had the pleasure of doing the stage sound with her on a couple of tours, meeting her guitarist brother Pete too, another smashing chap. What a lovely family. Joe was a HUGE influence on a whole generation, me too, and we will always be thankful for that. Rip Vicky.👍🇬🇧

I seen Joe in the 70s he hasn't change at all except he had long hair and was lucky to have a photo taken with him.A proper gentleman. He would give some of the younger pop stars a run for there money.

Best cover I have heard on one of the best songs ever written and recorded. Had not even heard of this singer. All of the musicians nailed it, and the drummer is exceptional. The recording engineer did amazing job . Kudos guy, you did good.

Great to see a young person liking the oldies and the artists of the day. I'm 63 and still think that I was fortunate to grow up in the 60's. Btw I also love today's music except for hip hop. Cheers

A good version of a favourite Don Gibson song, I was impressed with Joe Brown many years ago when I first heard his Little Picture of You
