I'm glad someone asked Joe Barresi about pinkerton. I was going to start my own podcast and beg Joe to come on just so I can talk about the drum sound on it. It's the best rock drum tone of all time. Straight up.

I love recording and mixing my own music but if I could record with anyone it would be Joe Baressi. I love his guitar and drum tones so much and he’s worked with so many bands I like I think he’d really get what I’m trying to do.

I like the bands they talk about, but I imagine for people who love them, this is heaven. It’s still kinda heaven for me, because I could listen to mixers talking about their craft all day every day, independent of artist.

p.s. _Stoner Witch_ and _Pinkerton_ are two of my favorite '90s recordings, those Kyuss records were foundational I go back to seeing them open for FaithNoMore w/ Melvins and/or Babes in Toyland at Royce Hall gymnasium @Davis 1992/93 (memory's a tad hazy :D) Those gigs had tremendous vibe like no other, made Lollapalooza 1&2 seem chaperoned.

Ha! I ran EV Sentry 500s as my mains for all of the 90’s paired with various nearfields. (Referencing the 30:00 mark) Now I struggle to match the character of those recordings! 🤷♂️. If they’re good enough for Joe (either Joe) and Queens Of The Stone Age then they’re good enough for me!
