It's widely known the only reason Apolonia was in Purple Rain was because him and Vanity were dating and broke up right before filming. Talking bout she brought glamour to him. I'm from Minneapolis and grew up going to 1st Ave. Girl sit down, he was always fabulous!
@peaceful344Сағат бұрын
According to Wikipedia Prince wrote it alone and he and Sheila produced it. Sheila was in Prince's life till the end. Appeared with him on shows and everything. Apolonia needs to go sit down.

Well according to the song credits, the only writer for “Glamorous Life” is Prince. I don’t believe this talentless chick wrote anything. 🙄

This has-been, or, never was...is soo suffering from an over inflated sense of self. Sorry lady. Prince was doing the "glamour" thing...waaayy before your coat-tail-clinging self got there. You were only famous because of one album and a movie...that you were the substitute of, because Vanity was the original choice, but was too flaked out to do it. You claim that you created to look of the Revolution and Sheila? Uh...no. Also, she acts as if she was this HUGE influence on...Prince. She, was nothing before or after. Why she is even being interviewed.. doesn't make any sense.

As a 40 year guitarist with modest chops I will say this. I was going to do it whether I remained in obscurity (Largely) or made it to the world stage. Having played for people night in and night out I will unequivocally say it was always about music. Playing it. Being around it. For several decades that is all there was for me. That's all I wanted to say.

I don't believe either of them. Neither one can write a hit on their owm

Let's be honest, Sheila maybe a liar but out of all those chics he had around him none of them could touch Sheila's talent. Jill Jones was average Vanity was average but beautiful Apollonia was beautiful but average Susannah was average Carmen Electra was basic AF Katt Glover (RIP )was a great dancer Bonnie Boyer (RIP )was an amazing singer and keyboard player Rosie Gaines was an amazing singer and keys player . Sheila was the only one that could match Prince swagg. Sheila was a hell of an purcussionist as well. She had more talent than a lot of those broads .

I often think of Prince when I hear some modern pop song that sounds like every other modern pop song. Same chord progressions, few, if any, key changes, banal lyrics and the inevitable part of the song where the singer just vocalizes some form of "Oh Oh Oh, Whoa, Whoa Whoa" because the writers (sometimes 5 or 6 of them credited) have little talent for lyric writing. God, the state of pop is horrible.

It’s common knowledge that Prince took a lot of inspiration from the people he was working with over the years and never gave them credit for it. I’m not saying he wasn’t a talented song writer in his own right. But there are to many people saying the same thing for it not to have some truth to it.

I I'm not sure of you all caught this or not, but I think the guy doing most of the talking has lost a little bit of a timeline of Van Halen songs and albums. He said that Ed had him listen to this new song called dance the night away which was on the Van Halen 2 album which was released in 1979. He then as part of the same story says they were just finishing up fair warning which was the album that came out in 1981. So how can you be listening to dance the night away and then having them being done with the last night of fair warning which were 2 years apart. I think the dude has done probably too much drugs and he's not remembering things clearly.

Why isn’t she on the writing credits on the song? The song lists Prince as the Composer and backing vocals. The song lists Sheila E. As the Producer, Lead vocals, and playing percussion. Which percussion part did Apollonia write 😂
