Joe just absolutely SLAYS every single jam he touches. I am always gonna mourn the loss of this grand artiste, every hour of every day. Love ya, Joe, and thank you for sharing your soul with us.

Well spoken. I so cried when got news our loss. Going back now just a kid he did the unthinkable...Joe made me feel and I saved for his records. Even a child can feel this so much beauty and soul in that man. When he smiled or laughed I lit up inside. So distraught I asked my brother did he know how much he was loved? And he said oh sure. Hes like magic.

@Cherie Rhynes I started my love of his music back in the 60's as a tweener. I was so happy to be able to finally hear him perform live a couple of years before he was called home. I loved every note he sang that evening and I will always love his music. Very few can touch a soul like Joe ❤️

Still doesnt affect his vocals. Thats Joe. And hes singing the song and his love and respect for Marvins song.
@sunndog5715 Жыл бұрын
I see two separate themes in each song. And your interpretation of a “drunk” isn’t far from mine on this version of the song. But first, Joe’s not drunk. That’s his sound. When I hear Marvin sing this song, he is testifying. He is preaching. He wants US to know, to understand. When I listen to Joe’s interpretation, I hear a man talking to himself. Maybe sitting in a bar, nursing a beer. He’s down. And this is his inner dialogue. In truth, this is a brilliant version. To be able to bring out a new vision on a song as iconic as ‘Inner city Blues’ takes a great deal of talent.

The band was awesome, I didn't like his performance, the song does not suit him, at all, felt like he needed to go to bathroom badly, better leave it for M Gaye.
@michaelpatrickmoore89005 жыл бұрын
Love Marvin Gaye. Love Joe Cocker. But, Joe singing this inner city black view on the world is a little far fetched. Band does a great job though.

Nothing beats the original Marvin Gaye’s Inner City blues this is drunken version of it
@cherierhynes8514 Жыл бұрын
Sure he was drunk and that worked for him. It was a tribute to marvins song. Please above all else injected soul in every note.
